Not Coping

Re: Not Coping

@creative_writer wow, I just did some reading up on POTS, that is not good at all. I don't suppose there is anything that can fix it?

Dealing with one disorder is bad enough without adding another life changing condition, I feel for you 😟😍

have you considered getting an air cooler? I got by with one for several years when I lived with my ex best friend.
I have a portable air conditioner now but it is very heavy and you need to vent it out a window or door. It also needs a drip tray for excess water. It is very effective though.

Re: Not Coping

Very wet and hot up here @Jynx , @creative_writer , @Birdofparadise8 , @ENKELI , @tyme

Not feeling very good today @Jynx I went to visit my mum in aged care  and she is having a bad day

Tried so hard to be positive,  got home and had tears flowing and now a headache 😢

Re: Not Coping

I have a fan. I can't get a portable one like you mentioned. The window doesn't work for it.

What one are you talking about? @ENKELI

Re: Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 an evaporative cooler is one that uses water to cool the air. You can get them small enough to sit on a side table up to the size of a portable air conditioner. The link below will give you an idea.

Re: Not Coping

@Shaz51 sorry to hear your mum is not doing well. Sending you a virtual hug from Perth (if you're a hug person x)

Re: Not Coping

Thank you @ENKELI

Re: Not Coping

@ENKELI, I reckon it might be related to my undiagnosed Ehlers danlos-hyper mobility. A lot of people with flexible joints seem to experience POTS. Not sure what you can do apart from self management like eat enough salt, compression clothing, exercise, staying hydrated, manage stress and eat well. There is technically meds for POTS too, but it is used as last resort. I’m already taking plenty psych meds. I have a cocktail of meds, antidepressants, mood stabiliser and antipsychotic.

@Shaz51 💖🫂

Re: Not Coping

You can always start small @Birdofparadise8  like 'today I am grateful for air-conditioning', and as you go along you can find stuff that maybe requires a little more reflection, like 'I am grateful for the people who care about me' or 'for how much passion I have for uni work'. It's a practice thing, gets easier with time.

@Shaz51 oh hun so sorry to hear it. Sending you hugs as well, please look after yourself 💜
