Re: Not Coping
@Jynx oh good grief that heat is awful! I am still shaking my head that you were in winter warmies last night. Melbourne - 4 seasons in 1 day.
When we moved from Canberra we suffered the same thing, the winter had been the coldest in several years (I remember we had snow in the back yard) and we moved east to Geraldton 400km north of Perth and suffered through their hottest summer. My mum went to every shop looking for an air conditioner and they were sold out so we had to cope with a fan and wet towels!
I know my power bill is going to be huge but I'd rather be comfortable with the air con on.

Re: Not Coping
Hey @Jynx
Not sure if you heard, but I spoke with my regular at KHL last night, and she said it was a stuff up on their end. I was doing the phone trial, and so the person who picked up my chat saw that note and thought he couldn't talk to me and also his supervisor, which is ridiculous. Anyway, my regular has updated my file so that I can call if I need an emotional regulation session or crisis. Luckily I wasn't any worse, and something happen.
We also spoke about self-compassion, and I'm going to start by writing down 2 to 3 things I'm grateful for each day. Or well for this week and reasees when i talk to her on Saurday.

Re: Not Coping
@ENKELI, yes. It sometimes gets dark when I stand up, but at least I don’t faint. Still a safety hazard though. Melbourne’s weather is so bizarre because it’s constantly changing. How long ago did you live in Melbourne?

Re: Not Coping
@Birdofparadise8 Ice cream and brownie, my mouth is watering!
I really want to visit Tassie. My first boyfriend was from a place called Somerset and I remember him calling me from his parents at Christmas. I was wearing shorts and a shirt over bathers whilst trying to cope with the heat in WA and he told me he was in trackies, uggs and jumper with a blanket. I envied him.
I will get there one day, it's on my bucket list.

Re: Not Coping
@creative_writer I was a kid, we lived in Watsonia. My dad was in the army so we moved a lot. I went back at least once every couple of years for a long time to visit friends and my Godparents. I haven't been back for about 10 years sadly.

Re: Not Coping
@ENKELI ahh the old wet towel and fan trick! It's actually so effective haha. Grew up without air con and it was the only way I could sleep at night. I lived in Canberra too, only for 9 months but their winters are BRUTAL. Really gorgeous nature walks around there though, but not much else to do lol.
@Birdofparadise8 oh what a relief! I'm so very glad that you will still have that form of support, sounds like it's really helpful for you. You regular really has your back, what a champ. And that sounds like an amazing idea, might be challenging at first but feel free to let us know how it goes! Maybe a self-compassion thread could be good for other members too.... Although we do already have Shaz's Gratitude thread, you're always welcome to share in there too. I find it good to see others' posts along the way, cos sometimes I can't think of anything until someone else says it first!

Re: Not Coping
@ENKELI, I hope you can make a trip to Melbourne. I had my own fair share of moving around too. My dad was adventurous. It does give you more exposure, but having to start again was hard

Re: Not Coping
Yeah, she said she needed to debrief with her supervisor. The man also didn't put any notes in; they both really didn't understand what had happened.
Yeah, well, she challenged me a lot last night.
Yeah, it most likely will. I don't even know what to think about today. @Jynx
