Re: Coming to terms with reality
Yeah..i recalled the cigarette prices in your country was 8x more that here 10 yrs ago during our visit there. And since then our government has been hiking the tax annually as well..doubling the prices than it used to be.
I was out of house early this morning before 5am..driving up to a highland area for another seminar which started 6.30am this morning. Its cool here and breezy..and the gathering area is just next to a stream. There's also a small waterfall and a fountain..and birds non stop chirping on the trees surrounding the area up to now 10am while we are having our brunch break. The morning session was held open aired...on the grass surrounded by nature..where green carpets are laid on damp earth...till around 8.30am when the sun is bright and glistening rays can be seen through the dew drops. I've always loved coming up here..an hour drive through narrow and winding roads that lead up to the place. Before that was a highway going east..then through a long tunnel that marks a u-turn going up to the highland resorts where i am now. The tunnel always reminds me of Lady D though... May we all be remembered as much as her for all the goods we have offered around us.. @Former-Member

Re: Coming to terms with reality
oh @eudemonism
your latest response has just touched my heart
you have been where I go when I walk...aware of everything and everyone....aware of nature...
what a beautiful walk you have just described....spoilt for choices you say... lucky you.... I have only country roads which can be dangerous......I am rewarded with the company of horses, cows, alpacas, sheep though
yes have managed a few walks recently with a huge struggle which is ridiculous because i used to be an avid walker
the mind can be so controlling
lovely that you have the awareness of everything around you....so many don't
@adek has responded too.....lovely

Re: Coming to terms with reality
Yes am glad for you @eudemonism. I really hope we can all focus only on the good things from our past and look forward for better things coming our way regardless how minute it'll be... so that our minds become a strong magnet that attract the positive vibes. Despite the obstacles...against all odds...am trying to disregard them as speckles of dust on my pair of sunglasses that can be wiped away if i take the time and initiative to reach out and do so.
The sadness comes and goes... thats life. Lets not be drowned too deep but instead.. keep coming back to the surface..bringing along the shattered pieces and start again..

Re: Coming to terms with reality
I must also congratulate you on your decisions..turning on a new leaf...your achievements..passing hurdles after one another will slowly boost our spirits again. This ability to search on the good points of our past despite all makes our future undertakings more meaningful and hopeful..and the past will be cherished. Even the dog is praised now..the surroundings observed and appreciated..and these feelings of gratitude will grow and branching more positive attitudes within us...i hope.
I know Friday will be tough..and the days after will be trying, but keeping up with the good routines u are having now would be a helpful. Distractions..being out and about normally does the trick for me..and i hope it will do the same for u.
Yes..the previous job as biologist gave me privileges of travelling locally..for fieldwork, courses, training etc. And since being with my ex i started travelling abroad almost every year... Europe, Middle East, SEA, The Orient. Looking forward to another trip with my girls after new year. Its good to know you are getting around too. Loved driving cuz our small country here gets me from end to end within the same day. Hope you will enjoy your rides too...soon.
Take care..
