Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Thank you @Former-Member. I'm over the worst of the change period now, but I'm having some side effects from the new meds, so too soon to tell if it's going to help.
Ive been too exhausted to be around much, but you've been in my thoughts ๐

Hi @Molliex
Really sorry to read that you have been unwell with a chest infection. Hope it clears up quickly. Missed you around here. Perhaps you're getting some special snuggles from your new kitten? Hope she has settled into the family dynamics well.

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Thanks @Former-Member. I've just been so unwell and haven't had the energy to be around. Have also travelled for some family Christmas events, but I'm home now. I'm hopeful I can get to see my Dr tomorrow, I need to get better.
Kitty cuddles have helped a bit โค๏ธ
I hope you're doing well @Former-Member ๐

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Hi all. Sorry I haven't been around. I've not been in the best place.
I've had a chest infection thanks to a virus + asthma + terrible air quality. It's been really hard to kick it and
I'm exhausted from lack of sleep.
My toddler is going through the terrible 2s and everything is met with screams of "no no no no" or absolute meltdowns. I'm so tired, I know I'm not being the best parent. I'm trying, but it's just so damn hard.
I've found the fires hard. We're not directly in their path, and I know that I have absolutely no right to complain. But the constant barrage of awful news has just taken it's toll on me. I've had family evacuated, and today when driving back from my parents house, we only just made it onto a major highway before it was closed due to a fire.
I'm seeing my GP tomorrow for a new mental health plan. I was hoping this year would be better, but it hasn't started off well.
2 positives - no SH and my new kitten (Luna) is an absolute joy
Although I'm not around much, I have been popping in and checking on the threads. I am thinking of you all ๐๐๐๐

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
I have found that limiting news and media and social media has helped re fires and mental health
My sister got upset about it today when she was watching something about the fires, i feel the same.
I just need to take a break from it all. It's not healthy to consume so much media on something this bad. It's bad enough.
Other than that it sounds like things are alright. Your kid is being that I guess hey? a kid. Part of the territory. I doubt you are a bad parent. You are trying and that is more than most.
