Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Hey @Molliex yes mostly poultry or seafood for me too. Very rarely some sort of lean red meat - can't handle animal fats generally. Beef or roo are ok tho'. Hate pork and lamb. It's funny ... if I'm asked if I'm vego/vegan or such I find that if I say 'no, I'm just fussy' no-one bombards me with questions about my diet and why!
Heading to the women's group of the disability alliance this morning and then possibly the mental health group this evening. Not sure about that one as the person I already know from it won't be there. Have a support worker booked for the evening one but might end up just sitting at the beach for a while.
How's today looking for you?

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Hi @Angels333
Thanks for the feedback - I'm very glad I could be helpful
I try to be - although people have many different situations and issues to overcome if possible I try and see the world from where they are coming from
And I remember when my life was very dark and sorrowful - I remember also what I wanted and most of all it was to be heard - listening and letting people know they are heard seems really important to me
I hope today is okay - things are getting hectic before Christmas - and in Melbourne we had a really hot day yesterday and another one tomorrow but today is okay
Thinking of you

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Hi @eth @Molliex @Angels333 @outlander and any other vegans, vegetarians or others who try
I did a lot of vegetarian cooking when my son was around - I found he behaved better and seemed happier when eating vegetarian food -
I found it was helpful to me to though I still ate meat and still do but not every day - my then-h and daughter both wanted to eat meat but put up with different vegetarian food some days - I refused to cook two meals for dinner so I would cook enough for two days and vary it - or maybe did my best
So it was vegetarian not vegan and I found cottage cheese to be a good binding agent - and got into the habit of freezing soy beans or chick peas and I would still do it I think but it is so messy - but I often make vegetable soup with barley and peas for protein - and feel really happy if that's all I have for dinner sometimes
My grand-daughter is vegan - she started this for her health and it must help as she has been doing this for a couple of years or longer - I don't think I could be totally non-meat-eating - I like it too much - and I just love the way animals eat grass and turn it into protein for me
But I do agree that vegetables are the best - I love them - I miss my vegetable soup when I go away
I hope people are getting ready for Christmas without too much hassle - the shops were busy when I went out earlier - I mailed my grand-daughter's parcel - alas - I am not used to this and posted it a bit late - I could have changed everything and sent it express but they were busy and I thought - hey - I have learned something here and I am sorry my grand-daughter is not likely to get her parcel until after Christmas but I would have paid for her to come to Melbourne if she had wanted to
And I miss her and wish she was coming down
All the best peeps

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!
Thanks @BlueBay there's a bit of friction with my parents and I. I'll have to take some prn before arriving at their place. I'll just rely on Mr Angels to help keep me grounded.
Have a lovely day today xxxx

Merry Christmas to you too @Molliex . I hope the meds change is not causing too many problems for you, and even better .. that you are starting to feel some benefits.
