You have so much going on atm that just a tag is enough for me to read how things are going for you - and your reports are so detailed and thorough I am amazed how you are keeping up with everything - so are a champion
It's good to read that you are in the last week of this part of your therapy - the radiation is so hard on you - I admit I never thought a whole lot about it though I know someone who worked in radio-oncology and he was young and had to get out of the industry - so it must be hard - you have opened my eyes to it in a big way - and to think so many women and some men are going though this therapy - it is really something
They do seem to be caring for you in a very sensistive way and I am glad to read about that - it must be so scary going through all of this and I am a person who likes to know all the details too - I understand what you are saying about the upcoming assessment and I wish you all the best there - I will try to imagine myself with you in the room - look about for an old owl with messy feathers - that will be me - watching like a pixar owl on the pelmet board or the mantlepiece - I have to look for one
Hmm - yes - that would be me
Yes - I might be hard to find but I will do my level best to be there
And so it's February again - not a leap year this year so you don't have one day to stack it all on - and I do understand that hard events take a long time to even out and anniversaries can be a rough patch - bad rough patch - but in time it does even out. I get it and I understand that there is not really any closure regarding traumatic events. And you have so many - and February is the hard time for you and you are already having nightmares this year - perhaps this has something to do with your radiation therapy because that is surely enough on it's own
I am thinking of you a lot - and wish I could be there for you in person - and hold your hand and do nice things for you like make you a cup of tea and fix an atomiser with essential oils to make the air relaxing
Sending my best wishes as always and hoping this week passes without too much angst - knowing there will be some
My love
Dec

Ohhhh yes @Eve7 that sounds so good. 😄💗 And yes, I'm ready. A rushed breakfast this morning and a missed lunch due to medical appointments, has me feeling a bit peckish. And the Oncologist chipped me for having lost more weight since I saw the radiation nurse last Wednesday. So a nice slow cooked lamb dinner is just what I need. Should help to keep weight stable for my next nurse check up in 2 days time.
How was your work day today?
Hi and thanks for messages @Shaz51 @eth @Owlunar @Snowie @greenpea @Former-Member @outlander
@Anastasia You were in my pocket today ... thanks heaps. It was comforting to know you were there. I hope you and family have reached your destination safely and you are finally able to relax and settle in for the week. How was your boy this morning?
Ha ha @Owlunar I thought of you and your wise owl presence during my oncologist apt this arvo. No nice rafters for you to perch on, with the room being starchy white and highly clinical. But there was a curtain rail around the examination bed. Figured thats where you'd be. 😄

Yes thats right @Eve7 ... 2 more radiation days to go. Strange ... its gone quickly, yet feels like a lifetime. Tomorrow it will be 12 weeks since my surgery. Everything happened so quickly since initial cancer diagnosis. Then decisions and appointments, and then more decisions and more appointments. And barely time to draw breath in between. Little wonder I feel exhausted from it all.
But I got a fairly good report from the radiation oncologist today. They are happy with how its going. But I have another apt with her in 6 weeks time for a review on side effects etc. Just to make sure things are going okay and recovery is happening. She stressed the importance of continuing on the chemo pills. 😞 The radiation can destroy cancer cells in left breast post surgery. But does nothing for any cancers that may already be developing in the right breast. The chemo pills take up that role, as well as protecting other organs. Still have such mixed feeling on those little pills!
Yes please, I do like oreo's. Much better than the corned beef and tomato sandwich I made myself here in my room. But it was nice too. 😊 Will make a nice cup of tea now and have a shortbread cream biscuit with it. At least the unit has nice packaged biscuits.
Hope you have a good day at work tomorrow.
