They're really popular in China too, but apparently the Chinese were originally inspired by Japanese drinks. I'll have a Matcha one thanks. 🙂

@eth, I've tried lotus root, lotus seed paste, lotus flour noodles and rice steamed on a lotus leaf. All very yummy, so I imagine lotus flowers would be fantastic.
