I love Japanese tableware... I did a Ceramics Cert. IV, and worked as a studio potter for a while. Is currently on hold, but I have taken a fair bit of inspiration from their "wabi sabi" love of the handmade and slightly imperfect. Can't show off mine (in case it's recognised) but these are similar to my style.

The most delectable of all at my favourite place :

Yuzu butter scallops - Hokkaido scallops, pan seared in spicy yuzu butter, topped with radish and pear puree, yuzu wasabi cream, pickled cucumber, honeydew melon and shiso micro herbs with matching sake.  

Heavenly!

Love the ceramics @Smc.  My sil has quite a collection too and is an artist (painter and print maker) who's just started a ceramics course - it will be interesting to see what she makes.
