Hi @Shaz51 A long day for you, it sounds.
A very long week it's been, for me too.
My 1st Work Shift in Traffic Control (on Wednesday) was 13.5 hours long - 6.00am Start, got home around 7.00pm that night.
Didn't start to feel 1/2 Recovered from that Wednesday Shift until late this afternoon.
They wanted me to do a 6.00am Start (+ just as long) Shift the very next day (Thursday) - I had to Decline that Shift.
They also wanted me to do a 4.00am (even earlier) Shift of 10 hours this Sunday (the day after tomorrow).
I had to Decline that Shift too.
My body cannot handle more than 1 of those Shifts (in one week).
I have not worked 6.00am Starts in over 10 years - I've never ever worked a Shift as long as 13.5 hours.
Their Shifts can even be 16 hours Long - Wow, that used to be Illegal....

I cannot get the Site to Post pictures off my Computer - So this Pic is off the Web/ Internet.
I got Pepper Puss on Sunday night - So I've only had her for 5 days.

I'm making positive progress with various aspects of my life. I can understand the feelings, that I sometimes have, and that others have also expressed; such as the feeling of having an impenetrable barrier in front of us. There appears to be no way over, under, around or through this barrier.
Another analogy might be to have feelings as though we are piloting an aeroplane which has stalled and the engine has cut out, feeling as though we are dropping out of the sky, feeling helpless, but looking for any place in which we can make a safe emergency landing
The reason for recommencing my current discussions with a counsellor was, in part, an awareness of those feelings of being like a yacht with no wind in the sails, be-calmed on a still ocean, and feeling somewhat purposeless and unable to move.
I find that it's when I think of how I am feeling and make an imaginary scenario to match the feelings, that I am then more able to picture a solution, or at least overcome the inertia that seems to be restraining me, and consider a way of moving and a direction in which to move.
Then I begin the process of considering how I can move forward positively, or at the very least, start moving again. It's in that way that I start developing answers and considering alternatives for myself and my progress.
And movement begins again.
With those thoughts in mind, I approach the weekend and look forward, with a somewhat higher level of positive expectation and purpose. I know, from past experience, that I will face those senses of impenetrable barriers, of no sense of power or control over my own life, of no wind in the sails. But, also re-calling that in the past I have begun again, I have found a way past the obstacles. I have, by calmly considering the methods that I have learned before, re-started my engine and recovered into a "position of normal, acceptable, self-managed, controlled and enjoyable 'flight'."
