@HenryX I can sympathise with the feeling of blockage. To continue your metaphor of flight the eagle sometimes rises in a thermal, not stalled but reenabled to soar long distances.

Hi @Dimity
Your description of the eagle's use of thermals brought a smile to my face. Another practical application of the principle is used in glider flying, particularly for long distance flying.
An extension of the metaphors might be the use of thermals and wind direction for extending the range of a plane.
It's interesting how we can use one subject to convey meanings in other subject areas.
I find it to be a useful way of talking with myself in the way that I described in the earlier post. It's possibly just a way of using imagination in a "story telling" way and developing ideas by extension.
Best Wishes
@HenryX

@HenryX it's not just a narrative device, I think it's also a way of problem solving - a way of introducing some lateral thinking

Hi @Dimity
I agree with what you have said,
"I think it's also a way of problem solving - a way of introducing some lateral thinking."
That is actually the reason that I described the process, hoping that other people could possibly apply and use such a process in their own situations and lives.
I believe that it is neither my place to tell others what I think they should or could do, even when asked, since I don't necessarly have all the details of their position to enable me to make a fully informed decision, nor am I in a position to accept responsibility for the outcomes of any such decisons in other peoples situation and lives.
However, I can explain a process that I use, hoping that those details may be useful to others, if they wish to apply the process in dealing with issues in their lives.
With Best Wishes
