Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated
@MJG017 oh that sounds divine!! And the clear roofing? OMG my cats would LOVE that!
Hmm suddenly I'm having an idea... A plastic dome kinda thing, fitted over a window so it's like a bubble on the outside - the top and bottom are flat and you can put bird seed on the top and the cats can sit inside and watch!
Surely someone has invented this already...

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated
One of the regulations where I live limits size of things and locations items are placed, all about clear access to front and back if needed by emergency services. If I could I would have from back of the unit to the back fence turned into cat enclosure.
One option I’m thinking of is automated alfresco awnings for variety of reasons. I don’t have horizontal beam over longest section of alfresco, this possibly causing issues.
other option I’ve thought of is cat enclosure that will need cat tunnel plus cat door. One I prefer are very sturdy as made from galvanised steel and am able to buy different accessories. Not sure my 2 would use it.

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated
Here are the three void babbies that keep me sane.
Leila, the unquestioned matriarch:
She was rescued from a storm and spent her first few months in a vets being carried everywhere. To this day if there's a storm or loud noise she'll come running in and cry to be held, because as soon as she is in my arms, she is safe:
This is her 'little' brother Lorcan:
He's part Mayne Coone, and thus huge (about 7 kgs). He is also very cuddly and very possessive:
He has a bit of an overbite so gets frequent and adorable bleps:
And finally the youngest, Luna:
Not many pics yet both because haven't had her very long, and because she refuses to stay still. She fears neither god nor consequences, regularly enjoying such activities as:
- chasing sister
- destroying rolls of toilet paper
- chasing sister
- eating cardboard boxes
- stealing hairtyes
- chasing sister (3am edition)
- stealing webcams
She is full of energy and looks like she may be part Siamese, so may grow to be as big as her brother. Gods help us.

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated
Hello and welcome @Nerys
What a gorgeous group you've got there! Luna reminds me of my boy Ollie who is also full of beans and loves to chase his sister 😂
I also just wanted to let you know that there were some photos that couldn't be posted because they were identifying images. Here on the forums we're an anonymous space to keep us all safe, you can read a bit more about it here in our community guidelines which are easy to miss when you first sign up! It just means that we need to be careful about not posting things that could be used to identify us offline, but not to worry if you slip up, us mods are always around to help catch little things like this 😊

So lucky! They're also cute. It would have been so much fun to play with them all.

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated
It reminds me when we went to the new RSPCA building to pick up Luna. Not that we went to pick her, but another that was in the same enclosure. The one we went for just stayed asleep, and Luna came straight out and wanted to play, so the decision was made for us. But it was so much fun playing with the kittens... you just wanted to take them all.

@MJG017 awww she really chose you ❤️. It's hard to tear yourself away from playing with them and having cuddles, I could lose hours just watching them play 🤣.
