Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@MJG017  I’ve had 2 cats on and off for a couple of years and have realised that it’s much easier and affordable to have just one cat long term. Mr Groot is so low key and chilled. So I think I am confident in not falling in love again and adopting one. And my mum keeps asking too! Although I do have my favorite kitten!

and I’ll take on some foster cats when I can. It’s been good for my mental health too. Lots of little kitty snuggles.

@Ru-bee  is that a ragdoll?

My little girl... oh my sweet little girl...

She's a rescue... she had been in 2 abusive foster homes who tried to break her and was in the last chance foster home before potentially being put down... she was with that couple for 9 months and i rescued her... I saved her life...

There was a horse trainer who wanted her too but because I got in first the decision was mine. I never had any intention of training her to like humans more, I have seen that come more naturally without having to dictate their recovery.

I relate to her far more than most... that the first humans she ever knew hurt her too...

I'll get my girl back when I get into government housing...

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

She is! @Bow  well I don't know that she's a pure ragdoll since she's a rescue and her coat isn't quite as full as a typical ragdoll so maybe she's a cross... but she is still so fluffy and soft, sometimes I'm amazed that I got lucky enough to find her at a shelter

@avant-garde that's such a beautiful story, you can tell that your love has had such a huge positive impact on your sweet girl's life. What an amazing thing to be able to give her a loving home after what she's been through ❤️

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@MJG017   It can be very rewarding being a foster carer.  2 cats I fostered I always knew I couldn’t keep them.  Still missed both of them when they were no longer in my care.

this is my foster cat who came to me from another foster carer where he was always hiding under furniture.  He had medium length fur which was in early stages of growing back following surgery to remove a badly shattered back leg.

too couple of months with me before he gained confidence and felt safe to come out of his room (my study) and join me in the lounge room.   Last photo is from lady who adopted him.  He went from being a terrified boy to a young man who ruled the house with pet steps everywhere.

We have 2 new litter sisters. They are settling in really well.

There was a little bit of them being hissy missies as they had been separated for 20 days but with careful management they are getting on really well, cuddling, relaxing together, playing fighting and galloping around and eating together….

It’s lovely being a cat house again. We had lots of people through the door so they are getting lots of human socialising.

There were 2 massive dogs in their foster home so they seem grateful to be able to chill.

@Gremlin24 @MJG017

I like that I get to see my cat every day at the moment, at least until Tuesday.

I don't know which I prefer, seeing my cat everyday or spending time with my best friend... my best friend has an over opinionated nature and doesn't know how to keep her opinion to herself. Let your daughter live her life.

Sorry... tangent
