Re: Good Morning!

what s a JR ? is that a junior rating @Emelia8 ? yes, instructors in basic some had the best sense of humour. and so did some junior nco's after that.

Re: Good Morning!

Hi @Former-Member

um re masks , the ones I've seen so far beggar belief as to how anyone would get a seal, let alone stay on. things are just placed and expected to stay there.

wore half face masks many many times at work, they dont come off, dont have fiddly stupid catches that come apart etc. can get airlead to fit them, nearly fell over when saw prices , piece of hose $190 prob worth$6 same w mask prob costs $25, sells for $85

um am also thinking my breathing probs not just while asleep. will persist  for time being. not really convinced atm.

yes, seen tables before. might be 10 in one or two last I looked, but not enough, there is another method apparently if been w DES for over 12 months and still not working then goalposts a bit lower somehow think Thanks

ok i used to hang out in fb DSP group, general consensus was that its al up to the doctor, ie if they have never got anyone through it before, dont even bother. go find someone who has got through the system

Re: Good Morning!

@TAB  Sorry TAB, a JR is a Junior Recruit,  they took them at 15 yrs and 9 months into the Navy. Hubby was still only a kid and in a war zone during Vietnam War.

I cant add anything of value to the discussion on closing long social threads and opening a new one. Mixed feelings on it. @Former-Member @tyme

Re: Good Morning!

ok yes, Army took apprentices at that age @Emelia8  I was 17 and 10mths when I joined

Re: Good Morning!

@TAB hi how are you

Re: Good Morning!

Absolutely @TAB .

You (or we) can certainly support with migrating to new threads by locking old ones if you think that will help. However, we don't really want to remove the threads completely as people may want to look back at their posts.

Re: Good Morning!

years ago, mods would move things to other threads , at least thats what I thought.

I dont want to delete stuff. its just that there are a few threads that have almost the same names and generally most of them arent being used /never were used that much, dunno @tyme  theres at least one other night shift thread, countless get fit and walking threads etc etc

Re: Good Morning!

Hi @The-red-centaur  just saw you in dialogue box before.

I'm okay enough thanks. have started studying, so driving to city one day a fortnight now (2nd time this tues)

still collecting new health issues , last 2 severe sleep apnoea and atrial fibrillation ie HR heart rate too fast plus irregular, despite already being on meds.

keeping wolves from door by repeatedly tapping into my super,

not really able to work atm. need to get a handle on a few heath issues .

How have you been ? hope things not too bad for you

Re: Good Morning!

@TAB that sounds so intense. AF isn't good. Hope they can get it under control. And good luck with your studies.

I'm doing ok. Though I'm really anxious today. I'm launching a market stall for my artwork this evening. It's a giant step of launching my own business when I have never worked a day.

Re: Good Morning!

Yes, fitment and securing are tricky indeed @TAB  🤔🌺

that’s actually the reason why I use my own headgear (straps) that I make here, and my own chin+mouth straps. The only thing I use from a mask manufacturer is their silicon seal/cushion, and their silicon/poly frames. Otherwise I just can’t get them to stay on my face.
The costs are so very expensive, I agree. I have visited the Au made manufacturing plants around greater Sydney, and there is a huge amount of hygiene procedures and mechanisms built in to the manufacturing process, which makes it very expensive on the end product cost 😔

Daytime breathing issues..do you have a fingertip pulse oximeter you can use to monitor during the day? This can sometimes evidence a problem (not always though) and may be a good place to start (I got one and took pics of the saturation, showed the doc, then I was able to get help).
Oh, yes; that makes sense: that’s called completing the DES’ Program of Support, where they can then provide a report to demonstrate participation and recommend DSP, I think. I haven’t had much to do with that, so that’s the limit of my knowledge there 🌺

yes, I’ve heard the same regarding doctors supporting a submission for claim for DSP. I personally just gathered medical evidence (instead of medical opinions) from docs, and did my own claim hand in hand with the OT who did the report. I think because I was well over 20 points on some of the individual tables, with a total points over 100, my situation was a bit different in how it was processed 🙂

Best wishes with it, anyway, and I hope that things work out in your favour 😀🙌🏻🌺
