Re: Good Morning!

Hey there @Emelia8  🙂🌺

Your hubby was so very young to go into the Navy and be shipped to active duty in the Vietnam War ❤️‍🩹

I feel there is a significant chasm between what politicians decide to do with the lives of those who live within their borders, and their comprehension of what they are doing to their country-folk, in terms of how that imposition of fighting their battles can fundamentally change those lives, and the lives of the future generations. I’m generationally military, and I am familiar with the outcomes of what my family members throughout the generations have experienced while fighting a political agenda (they were in wars that were as a result of various political step-wise threat escalations over resources and land, and incompatible political frameworks).
hmm, sorry for the blurt - I feel that war is only harmful to those who are sent and their families, not those whom decide on the sending 💜

Just my feelings - and they may or may not be politically correct in a variety of ways 😉💜🌺

Regarding closing longer threads and starting newer ones with the same general theme, I think if it speeds it up (loading/posting) then it might be helpful, but can I kindly suggest putting date-orders at the top and bottom of closed threads and maybe in the titles..? Like:

  • Good Morning! Thread 1 of 3, 21/3/2015-30/6/2020=closed
  • Good Morning! Thread 2 of 3, 01/7/2020-05/4/2023=closed
  • Good Morning! Current from 06/4/2023

or maybe have an extra line under titles that show the date interval and status (closed or open) of the threads? If IT don’t mind coding that in to the forums?
🙂🌺

@moderator  and @tyme  regarding the threads ☺️🙌🏻🌺

Re: Good Morning!

Good idea @Former-Member

Quick question @TAB , when you 'search' for this Good Morning thread, how do you do it? I'm trying to 'trace' your steps to see how to make it easier by moving some of the older ones. But I actually don't get any older ones pop up.

Also, can I confirm whether you are using a phone or computer/laptop/tablet to access the forums? This might make a crucial difference.

Re: Good Morning!

Totally agree with what you said regarding sending yoyng peiple off to wars @Former-Member .  And I think what made Vietnam war so much harder for those who got sent to fight in that war...  there were so many anti war protestors back home protesting against the poor blighters over there. It was really bad for the soldiers and sailors coming back to Aust. My husband said their were protestors lining up shouting abuse, soitting in their faces,  totally disgusting behavior. A lot of these guys were just country kids sent off to war at 17 years of age. Just doing their duty. Those soldiers and sailors never forgot that abuse, or how they were treated by some sections of the public. Possibly why so many that I know are still so messed up. Very sad.

Re: Good Morning!

Hey there @Emelia8 💜🌺

Firstly I wanna say there’s nothing that anybody can say that will sufficiently remove that alienation, rejection, and offence that these brave young people were subjected to at zero fault of their own while they were sent away as political muscle, on their arrival to what should’ve still been their home ground 😔🌺

I have heard from my relatives that they felt stateless afterwards; not accepted anywhere, and one more step removed from society in addition to time and space lost while away.
I do agree that rejection and alienation wrapped in blind hostility - alongside having to process the things witnessed while away - has and still does impact on the longevity of suffering, no doubt 😔❤️‍🩹

Carefully placed propaganda, various agendas, popularity of a cause (what is on trend), and wanting to fit in and ‘make a difference’ without realising who should’ve been blamed, are some of the methods of misguidedness of those who were drawn in to those arrival protests, is what I quietly think. The same themes and methods are alive and well today, sadly, when it comes to these used to sway the gravity/majority of opinions in current societal matters of contention (for want of a better term).
The deep sadness is still present in the way society obeys rules that just do not work, but just don’t know any different to do any different ❤️‍🩹

Deep thinking is something I do a lot, in the hope I can make better decisions, even if it isn’t quite running with the pack 💜🙂🌺🫂

These are just my opinions, said with gentleness 🙂🌺

Re: Good Morning!

That is all so true @Former-Member I love what you said and many of these soldiers came face to face with the depravity of communism which is now lurking as a threat today. Socialism in the modern world seems to attract fringe groups mainly LBGTQI and its a slippery slope downwards to communism. Young LGBTQI activists don't know what they are getting involved in but it stands for things like the destruction of family and the removal of human liberties. Maybe they should talk to these veterans for a wake-up call. The more extreme threat of totalitarianism now is a present day phenomenon and we lose a little piece of our rights every single day.

Re: Good Morning!

Thank you kindly @Former-Member 🙂🌺

Yes, I think the wisdom of the people who have experienced significant events would be a great repository of knowledge for all government - from us with our MH/MI lived experience, to veterans, to people who have experienced a variety of disasters, etc - the knowledge held is unique with integral, critical insights that could guide decision making with loads of forethought.
I personally think that govt is too ‘distant’ from the people it purports to govern..! If you don’t know the people with using methods of excellent consultation and ongoing engagement (instead of this current argumentative, push-and-shove/blame-game wasting of time we have at times now), how can you be working in their best interests? 🤔🙂🌺
