Re: Good Morning!

well I did my bit @tonys  got 2 big pines were in my backyard cut down. 20 and 25metres high, the taller ones trunk a metre in diameter still like 4 metres up.

hopefully roots are dying/dead. no life on stumps, they must have doused them in roundup or something. fruit trees coming. was thinking lemons and oranges , but as have not had decent peach , pear or apple in decades might try, well, at least the peach, the others a bit of a bugger to grow from childhood memory  thinkin Lisbon for lemons, some sort of navel orange and elberta for peaches stc...

Re: Good Morning!

Yes I do love lychees @Historylover so sweet and lovely.  @tonys yes some of these things are just so temperamental to grow! I hope your day has been ok, trying to slowly pace myself and not do much. Am using December to recuperate and plan for the new year. Next year in numerology is an 8 universal year for everyone which will expand everything we choose to take from this year forwards into 2024. So I'm sitting quietly within myself trying to be centred and listening to any inner stirrings regarding choices I'm going to make. So I am doing a kind of litmus test to see whether potential choices sit well with me. So that is what I'm doing over the month of December, just having a reflective pause. I was told we have a Geminids meteor shower which is visible in the southern hemisphere on the 13th December. I'm hoping to see it and make a wish come true.  Meteor showers are potent manifestors! See here for more:  https://blogs.loc.gov/inside_adams/2012/12/wishing-upon-the-shooting-stars-the-geminid-meteor-shower...

Re: Good Morning!

Meteor shower,   @Former-Member .   Back home on the farm I get up on the roof on a chunk of foam and marvel at the cosmos.    I have a birthday coming up..   Do I need to by a helmet...  Thanks for links mate.   Hope all things align in your own personal universe.

@TAB    I  have a big outdoor tub back home.  A 100 mtr roll of 2 inch poly pipe on the iron roof heats it with  btu's  to spare.   A small circulation pump idles away.  Keeps things stable.    But be careful.

The water can get scalding hot..

@StuF   Yes I'm going Ok thanks mate.  Guess your still in the wake of the bug and stay afloat,  paddling.   Won't be on the the threads much through the week so its nice to catch up on the weekend.   Think Christmas will be in here and making my peace with that.  Just grateful I'm alive hey.

Well,  The hospital dreadnought stops for no one.     Cheerio folks..

Re: Good Morning!

There's a lot to learn in gardening and vegetable growing. I just stick them in and apply enough water to sustain life @tonys. Indoor is another matter. I have no difficulty there.

Sounds mediterranean to have citrus or fruit instead of conifers and vegetable patches instead of lawn. I think these ideas are gaining traction these days with rooftop gardens and hives, use of spare space and nature strips for guerrilla gardens and vegetable growing. And chickens are making a comeback too. It's cool to be green these days.

Re: Good Morning!

@tonys  my brother I’ve got some words that might soothe the Bard.

In two hours I’m going to one of two large community gardens in the area.

They need a volunteer with a strong background in campaigning projects grants and funding.
The Swan Coastal Pane is nothing but silica sand with limestone sandstone and granite outcrops. No primary resources to cultivate European food.

For me there is no big picture. I only do what I can to make a difference in my  area, help others that are like-minded. To ask questions to those who are never asked and overlooked.

There is beauty in inclusivity, homeless people can be the caretakers of a park, that brings safety and shelter to everyone that occupies that area. Parks can be designed to warm life when it is cold and cool life when it is hot. Street libraries of books, toys and sticks.

I’ve seen it done.

The key is not to tell people that you’re doing it.

Re: Good Morning!

Cheerio @tonys

Re: Good Morning!

think pump set up bit beyond me @tonys  'pool' only 1600 litres yes, need pump, but would like to be able to set temp, even if manual like have input temp over 26 deg => cut off pump say and a bypass on return for over 35 deg so just dumps everything

cna find spot to put it , way wider than thought. wont fit on path on 'secluded' shady side of house. guess could skim weeds and put a couple tarps under it and hope. last idea was back footpath in sun , ok to warm it, then hang shade cloth when get in. tried near back door, perfect. except couldnt open back door... also had huge table to move, another granite topped table, about 50 pces firewood, 2 aircons, mower catcher etc etc  then hung washing out. should sleep well tonight lol and.. pool still not even started yet ...

Re: Good Morning!

Hey @tonys are you a Sagittarian or a Capricorn? You could get what is called your "solar return report" done if you know your exact birth time, date and place of birth (city, state and country). Solar returns tell you the flavor of the next 12 months ahead uniquely for you and what to expect for your accurate birth data!  You should have allready felt the shifting energies coming in 3 months ago. You would have noticed feint new energies coming in. It will also take several months from your birthday for the old energies to leave.

If you are a sagittarius the new moon in your sign on the 12th December could be especially auspicious. Whenever a new moon falls in your zodiac sign you can expect great things and is a special time for you.

The month leading up to your birthday can also make you feel more tired than usual as the universe is preparing you for a new cycle. You are shedding the old. Its a bit of a laugh in astrological circles so don't feel annoyed with yourself if you need to take it easy and rest more than usual. A friend and I were both Virgos and every time our birthdays came around we shared a bit of an insiders joke why we were feeling so tired. It happens!

I do a Solar Return report each year! 🙂

You could also check out Patrick Arundell's you tube channel and see your forecast for your sign for 2024 - its free

Re: Good Morning!

You must get bored with me say this,  but OH boy ,  there are just drawers n drawers of of info in your head  @Former-Member .   Bet if I opened up the top of your head with a can opener  and went for a stroll inside no one would ever find me again.  Dim n dusty bookshops,  fairy floss spinning wheels and imported Turkish goods,  and thats only level one.  You got a whole mall in there.!  And ,  Its all interesting..

So..  My birthday.  Well lets just say I spend the day before Christmas ,  with a hangover,   rewrapping all the crap I shouldn't have been given,  so I can regift it to some other shmuck. . .  who'll probly do the same.

I shall take your advice though and consult with the star gazers.   Tell you something,  Those folks that reckon they don't believe in that stuff.  B.S.  They love it just as much as us n sneak a look in the paper when they think no one is watching,  or buy an extra  lotto ticket on their day.  Cought the book keeper doing it plenty of times.

I'm feeling pretty good and I hope you are to mate.   Now that you've got my day,  something big n fiery comes at me,  I know you'll give me the heads up,  n I'll sleep sound on that.

Luv ya work Smiles..           tonys

Re: Good Morning!

What a lovely letter  @Glisten .  people that hold to your values are only just keeping the barbarians  at bay.   I hope you felt good as you set about your excursion.   Silica hey.  Inert ,  seemingly lifeless desert sand.      But. . .   Just at the cations   and the  anions in solution,  and the deserts bloom.

The middle eastern countries have turned sand culture into state of the art hydroponics.   I love growing things in straight course river sand,  but you can't put it in containers.  It packs to tight.

It never fails to amaze me what plants will grow in once you master the medium.

I know very little about bush tucker, and I'm not sure why,   but I have a feeling you do.

People like you..   always questioning systems and practices.  Thats where its at..

The cutting edge,  coal face of change..   Your all heart mate and I admire you very much.

You n gecko.     I log on and you pair blow me away..           thankyou..        Gnite Glisten.   tonys.
