Re: Good Morning

I don't have much knowledge of or need for firewood @SmilingGecko , but I had to say I used to have one of those lighters back when I smoked. Didn't use it for smoking really, but was pretty cool 🙂

Re: Good Morning

Yes that was what I was thinking re: tricycle. Got to get one soon @TAB but have had other expenses. Get paid my pension next week.  Have been putting it off but have been poking around checking prices and specifications on ebay, bike shops etc.  I did not know that about firewood, thanks for the link.  Had an arborist here a few years ago giving away chopped wood from peoples properties.  Did not know wood had to be a certain way other than not damp. Thanks for letting me know...

Re: Good Morning

Oh now thats interesting @StuF, would save on matches I guess. I'm pleased you don't smoke anymore.

Re: Good Morning

I think I might still have it somewhere @SmilingGecko . Don't have any lighter fluid though lol

Yeah, haven't smoked for a Long time!

Re: Good Morning

When you bought it was there lighter fluid allready in it?  I've yet to use it. May go and grab it now and see. Its a nifty idea @StuF I thought it would work on windy days outdoors so the flame doesn't go out when trying to use my rocket camping stove

Re: Good Morning

Can't recall @SmilingGecko

Re: Good Morning

I tried striking the flint. There was no lighter fluid in it. Looked at it and it has a thing on the base that has an indentation that you could put a coin in to unscrew it. I presume you put lighter fluid in the bottom of it @StuF once you take that part off

Re: Good Morning

google it @SmilingGecko  from memory from like 50 years ago, old lighters usually packed with cotton wool , you pour light fluid onto it that screw cap on again. highly doubtful they would send something via mail or whatever these days with fluid already in it ..

Re: Good Morning

Thanks for that @TAB enjoy your evening!

Re: Good Morning

need a little can of fluid from supermarket or bunnings @SmilingGecko

'You can get a bottle of Diggers Shellite from Bunnings for about $5… It is suitable for lighters and is heaps cheaper than lighter fluid.' from internet
