Asami Puss will settle down. Sometimes it just takes a bit. We fostered a cat for a year and for the first month she was hiding behind the couch. She will get more comfortable with you over time. Just give her a bit of space..

Hey @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Oaktree Asami Puss is already more cuddly, & meows to call me over for a pat or cuddle.
Yet she still runs under table & hides a lot, when startled.
Yes she's met my inside Birds - The Cockatiels/ Weeros, & the Fishers Love Birds (& 2 Canaries in top Cage).
Asami is fascinated, & sits there watching the Fishers Love Birds for ages....
She has not been outside the house yet, so she hasn't met all the birds in my 3 Aviaries.

@Oaktree She is lovely. I like the expression on her face 😺
giving an older cat a new home is an awesome thing to do.
she looks and sounds like she has settled in and has got her humans well trained already lol. Hoping you all have lots of many, many happy years together

@Adge she is a beautiful girl and is great to hear she is starting to call you.
Time, quiet dark area to feel safe in and treats. These are things I found helped me slowly gain trust of my last foster cat who was extremely timid and nervy. I used to buy Dine cream treats with things going from squeezing the contents onto a plate to over time her licking the contents off my fingers.

Hey @Adge @Shaz51 @Oaktree @Jynx @Patches59 @PizzaMondo 🙂
I cant find where I posted about this, however I thought it would be a cute story to share...
My mechanic found a little kitten sheltering in the corner of their doorway a couple of Mondays ago, who was in a very bad way and very frightened.
They took her inside, kept her safe and started putting food out for her - now, she is the tiniest, most ginger boss they have ever had at the workshop 😍
She literally fits in one hand, so she is still very young, however she loves it at the workshop, and when I had my car fixed on Wednesday, she sat with me while I waited.
My mechanic and I discussed some universal treatments for parasites, and he ordered them, and we also looked up a place locally that will neuter her for free or very low cost because she is (was) a stray animal.
She has beautiful blue eyes, a lovely stripy ginger and white coat, and she has the cutest little meow that is curious, and gentle - just to get you to look into her eyes to and tell you she feels safe now 🙂🌺
Next time I am there, I will ask the mechanic if I can take a photo of her, and I will share here .... to be continued 😍
