Re: Best Friends Club
@ENKELI sweetheart do I need to drag your GP over his desk?
There has got to be better medication.
Unless you have an infection from your toofs?
Could it be Chronic fatigue syndrome?
Ross River virus? Have I asked these questions before?

Re: Best Friends Club
Hi Friends,
I hope everyone is having a day. Not good, not bad. Just a day.
I've been thinking about the fact that it is R U OK? Day.
I think it is a great concept to encourage mental health awareness.
BUT...the day itself is so tokenistic. For example, my workmate sent a message asking if I am ok. But it was not sincere. She never checks in on me any other day.
Currently my colleagues are having an R U OK Day lunch. For the sake of my mental health, I am not attending. Forced socialisation is not for me.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I appreciate you all. You care about each other, every day. And that is so heart-warming.

Re: Best Friends Club
@Glisten no, I need to drag myself out to my GP. I've had gastro so I am now wondering if that is what the problem is - no absorption of meds. I don't have the usual dizziness though. Who knows?
I have been asked about chronic fatigue before but I have no idea how it's diagnosed.
I did water my plants today so that's one thing at least.
I am going to take the advice of the lovely @tyme and do some biblical reading. Psalms 46:10 - "Be still and know I am God" is my go to verse. I have it framed in my bedroom. It helps when I feel guilty about being lazy and doing nothing.
Thank you my darling tomaatii, I have been thinking of you and hoping you're keeping well 😍💜

Re: Best Friends Club
@ENKELI hey Enkeli, I have been very anxious since midday which is part of my condition. I have been reading the Bible for a few hours. It helps to calm me ha ha. Hope you get yours better soon

Re: Best Friends Club
@ENKELI hey Enkeli, I have schizoaffective disorder. I had a lot of trauma growing up with my father. Mother wasn't perfect either. I was probably genetically prone and sensitive. I fought hard for a normal life. Christianity is important to me. Sorry about the bad patches in your life. May be we can pray for each other.❤️❤️

Right there with you @Alonely I think 'tokenistic' is the perfect word to describe this day. I don't think you're alone in feeling like the question is often asked in a very insincere, 'ticking a box' kind of way. I almost want to start a counter-movement called 'R U AWARE?' day where we raise awareness about the stigmas we still face! Just a thought anyway 🙃
Aww you're so sweet, and we appreciate you too!! 😁💜
