Re: The magic of tidying

Hi @HenryX It's so nice that life is turning a corner for you and your outlook is better. Sounds like you had a good day. I hope tomorrow is another good day for you!

Re: The magic of tidying

So glad your progress has continued for several months @HenryX . I hope your wishes for improved family relationships and new projects are also realised, they're certainly good goals to work towards. Glad you can enjoy nature too... the wind and cloudscapes on your drive to the coast.

Re: The magic of tidying

My new neighbour has cut down the mature mockorange, red rose and guava in the front garden. I'm ashamed of how depressed I feel. Loss of beauty, loss of agency, loss of control. I can't sleep. I feel worthless. My late mother spent a lifetime making gardens and music and I've failed. My former neighbours and I planted the grounds but now very little is left. It's only taken 18 months to raze the garden but that's the story of our suburb and its changing demographic.

Re: The magic of tidying

I know house chores are meant to be a daytime thing but I'm sick of lying around and resting without sleeping. So because hygiene and cleanliness come hand in hand, I may as well do some chores just so I don't feel even more downtrodden than I already do. I'm a shut-in now, may as well keep my "cubbyhole" clean.

Re: The magic of tidying

If it makes you feel better @Former-Member go for it. I get some of my chores done in the evening. Hope you can then get to sleep.

Re: The magic of tidying

Hello @Lumara and welcome to this thread. I want to declutter and downsize to make my space more livable and as contingency planning to lessen the burden on my family. I'm currently working through books and files. What are you hoping to tackle?

Re: The magic of tidying

@Dimity  .. I have really made a mess of gardens here

I despair, looking  and thinking of them

Hope the rest of your Day goes Okay

Re: The magic of tidying

Thanks @TAB . I've been here for decades so had seen the garden grow. I also have a private backyard which I'll admit needs work.

Hope you're going OK in the WA heat and with work.  I'm getting a/c quotes atm. We've got several hot days coming up.

Re: The magic of tidying

yeah , have made a mess of garden here  re temperature etc a few years ago lol @Dimity

Re: The magic of tidying

It can be hard to keep up the watering @TAB . I've lost many plants and let the survivors take over. We're getting more and longer heatwaves which doesn't help.
