Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Yikes - thunder storm here now.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Might drown out the noisy tradies @soul lol Send some of that rain my way will ya. Hehe

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Gonna find a foot massage next @Former-Member .... my S2 is not only leaving home to escape our troubled dynamic, he's also moving state ..... and us with him to start with ..... 😔

I am sooo blessed I don't have to pack up our home and actually leave (at least yet) cos we have a family property to stay in over east - where I am at the mo - so it's just reversing things for now ..... uni terms over here, holidays back there with our other kids ..... but it's come up suddenly and knocked me for six ...... hate that he is having to leave home to escape and get well again, but it is what it is ..... trying to stay focussed on silver linings. Might get to Tassie while we are based over here ..... and visit my mum's rellies.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Will your S2 find a place on his own @Faith-and-Hope ? Guessing he has contacts in Melbourne for support ?  Yes, its hard when they want to 'get away from us' - ouchy! Hope he finds a good therapist there, and starts to stabilise in himself, find his place in the world. All I had at that age was my work, church and music. It carried me since I left home at 16 but without that concept of self, and personal values or steady relationship & feeling valued and loved by pivotal people - it got worse before it got better. But from where I stand you are better resourced than my family and bending over backwards to help him. My son has needed to know I'm here for him since breaking up with his long time love.

Hope you do get to catch up with some of your rels there, keep the faith, stay strong. Huh, I should talk lol Gottago

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

We don't really know anyone over here @laoses, so he will need to make all new connections, but it is something he is wanting to do, which is good. He will stay with us while he sets up his own place, but this will all happen within a couple of months and it will take apart our family dynamic as much as it has been trying to hold together ..... major changes across the board.

I am just bunkering down for now. We won't really know how eaverything is going to land until it does ..... but I can hear D1's voice very flat on the phone. It has taken out time in Greece this Christmas which we were all gearing up for, and that was something she was really looking forward to. S2 won't go, and WH won't go without him ..... and we have Dominoes ..... it will impact all of us, but this might be our best way forward. I expect t it is our best way forward. It's no small issue we are having to crack.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

So - big changes ahead for you and the family @Faith-and-Hope. So much hoping and believing that they will be beneficial. You're taking care of yourself - coffee shop, foot massage - sounds good.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

@Faith-and-Hope

Your picture is lovely - so bright & colourful.

I'm getting brighter & more colouful as I get older.

One or two people said they always know it's me coming (from far off) - because they see my bright orange pants..

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Love it @Adge .... ❣️

Btw .... this was not one of my paintings ..... its a "found on the net"

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

That's okay @Faith-and-Hope

It's a lovely bright picture to see - it doesn't matter if you painted it or not (although it would be great if you did).
