Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Yes, son plans a day skiing. Only south island this time round. They've booked a hire campervan from Auckland to Dunedin, so that will be a challenge. They betta drive safe. They're both pretty sensible. Hope he posts on fb or so, he tends to be family private.

No, the tree man only did 1/2 the tree, but I only paid him 1/2. Looks odd but all the branches on the house side are gone. Feels like unfinished business but have to trust God with it. Need to put money aside to visit my parents again soon, maybe, they're past worrying about seeing everyone.

Just watered a very dry garden, and enjoying now enjoying hot RB tea. 🙂

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Sounds really yummy @Faith-and-Hope. The rain is getting a little heavier. Good porridge weather.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Yeah .... 9deg here now.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Do you do the cryptic crosswords @Faith-and-Hope? My mother was a big crossword fan. I used to buy her subscriptions to crossword magazines.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

No @soul .... haven't really got the jhang of the cryptic ones ... although U can sometimes jag a clue or two. My mum was a wiz at them though. Wish she was here to ask how to do them and demonstrate for me ..... 😔

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Oh no @soul. probably just the way they communicate, grr! Your own noise to focus on can help, but might have to go out again, what a pain.

I just rang mum who revealed dad (diabetic) hasnt checked his blood sugar for weeks - he's forgotten how to, and mum can't work the glucometer. Fortunately the shower nurse was finishing, and I was on speaker, so I asked her to have it added to dads care plan during shower time 😕

So much for speaking to the RN Case manager that reviews him every month. Not impressed. And mums cranky with me because dads having daily showers now "because I talked with them" - called me "a shit" as she hates them coming into the house and dads "loves the attention" she declares with sarcadm. What a joke! Same old same old with her - can't win either way. She says she's not coping, I see dads neglect (dementia) and when i help - smash!

She also tells me dads having trouble passing urine on & off for weeks (with all the personal detail grr), honestly, think she knows how I'm gonna respond to these things and gets off on it,  appealing to the nurse in me, stressing me out, pulling me in... (she was a nurse herself back in the 50s), I just feel emotionally manipulated, again. Outsiders can't see this, yet. Training myself to 'shake it off' - not easy when ya care

Well, keep ending up on this couch, gotta wash my hair and sort something to wear for shop work. So lucky they always put me on the counter and not out the back. I do like customer service.

What you guys doing today? Gosh, forgotten what threads to go to to find your news 😕
