Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Sorry you are feeling so down today @Former-Member ..... hope it picks up for you across the morning ..... some days it's enough to just "be" ..... and notice things ..... when your thoughts start to drag you down, try to focus on noticing things and see what you find.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Thanks for your posts above @Owlunar, and @Faith-and-Hope, not ignoring you just a bit scaterbrain and have some low grade fever or inflammatory something going on. Heaviness. Yes, it was good to see my son on the weekend, and as it worked out - good timing re distraction doggie thoughts.

Hey rang mum yesterday, she was suspicious of my timing as Aged Care were expected to arrive any min to interview her. ?aged care assessment I think, I've been working hard with DVA and Home Nursing Service to get that done for them as mum pushes everyone away. She told me a story about dad getting security guards at the shoping centre to help him find her. She couldnt tell me why, just that she was angry with him for doing that to her. With dads dementia gaining momentum (decline) and mums MI, its anyone's guess who's playing who with those two. Its always been that way. My inner child is still wanting to run around and save them while my adult is saying - no, its destroying you. So much conflict, inside and out, and none of it ends well. Any wonder God sent Jesus to make a way for us to live sin spirit. Theres little hope otherwise. Or maybe I'm just slumping into depression again. Can hear you in the back of my mind F&H "just keep swimming" 🐠🐾🐠🐾🐬🐈🐥🐦🐣🌷🌿

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Oops @Faith-and-Hope, was typing at same time. Yeah, think I'll just be today. Thanks for noticing, checking in, bit teary on it. Hope you're OK. 🐬

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Former-Member

Yes - it is a strange situation with your parents and exactly what can you do when it seems your mother is paranoid about your father getting the help he needs and is entitled to

Such a strange situation - this has to be really hard for you

Thinking of you though

Lots of cyber hugs

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hey @Former-Member - hope you are feeling a bit better. I know you spend some time gardening. I bought a lavender plant. It's in a pot and I can't really plant it in the garden as the trees cause too much shade. When I saw it at Bunnings, it looked really healthy but now the flowers seem to droop. Is that too much water or not enough? Do you think I should put it in a bigger pot?

Are your birds getting used to their new home? Do they call out to other birds around you? My budgie is so noisy at times, I put a cover over him even during the day.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @soul, I'm ok I guess, thanks. Hope you are? My son just rang for a good chat, gives me a lift 💜

Not sure about your lavender🌿 but they like sunshine, drained soil, water twice a week. But @Adge and @Appleblossom might be able to offer more tips for you.

Yes, my birds are settling, happier. Funny you ask if they call out to the wild birds, today a honeyeater flew into the house, around the livingroom and back out again. Never happened before, guessing its the birds. They get extra chatty sunrise & sunset. Your budgie sounds very vocal. I can't handle the noisy birds, that's why I chose these quieter ones. I posted picks on 'everything birds' thread.

Thanks for chatting ❤🐦🐦

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

For a little bird @Former-Member, he sure can make a loud noise. It pierces my eardrums. He loves to chatter to the vacuum cleaner, washing machine and especially my blender.

Quiet birds sound like a good idea. Very peaceful. Here's a pic of him. Have a good sleep.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

@Former-Member I saw your birds in the other thread. Beautiful.

I spent time in a bird shop last month but would not buy yet, with my 2 cats.

I am glad your son is keeping contact and helping.  You deserve it.

I went out tonight to choir, it was his first time, he said "better get back on the horse", after he dropped out of the opera, so I am glad he had a good night tonight.

Hi @Appleblossom, nice to see you, seems you're doing well, I'm glad. And your son too. Yes, i,m blessed that my son still wants to know me, when o think f all the thongs he says o did wrong raising him. He's single at the moment too so has a bit more time. Thanks for looking at my birds, I like them 🐦🌷🌿💟
