Hi @Former-Member - glad to see that the back pain has subsided. I hurt my back quite a few years ago and had six weeks off work. Went through all the medical tests and ended up seeing a physio, chiropracter, an acupuncturist. I did hydrotherapy as well as other exercises. It eventually healed but was so debillitating at the time. I couldn't get the washing out of the machine, vacuum the floor or drive.
I did, however, do a lot of reading and taught the budgie several phrases. I was on strong painkillers for a couple of years afterwards until I decided that I really should wean myself off them. Things are okay now but I do watch how I lift things.
I think the dog is suffering from SAD. Not at all keen to get up in the morning for her walk. I have only just now taken her jacket off.

@Former-Member - fortunately (if that's the right term) my back injury happened at work so all expenses were met by Worker Cover. I had to undergo a return to work program and was eventually allowed to resume my normal duties.
My pooch has found a place in the sun to lay down.

@Former-MemberThat exchange with your Mum sounds really hard for you.
You were probably needing or wanting some recognition for the pain that you've had over the last few days - & there did not seem to be any response from your Mum about that.
Sadly I can relate well to what you described - my closest relatives did not acknowledge my serious health emergency. Not until I went into A&E in a ambulance, & had 2 emergency bowel surgeries within 3 days.
I always hoped for better understanding & connection with my parents, & it never seemed to come (Dad's gone now).
Maybe you have been hoping for something like that too.
Adge
