Hey guys,
this afternoon I went to visit my old weight loss doctor after a number of years break. He put some more fluid in my lap band so now I am on fluids for 3 days. Got some of those vlcd shakes and some regular soups. Also grabbed a few bananas to freeze up for a smoothie. Have another appointment in 3 weeks time. He wants me to eat high protein and low carb. Biggest hard thing will be no potatoes.

@Oaktree how are you feeling about all the diet changes?
gosh i love potatoes too! my mum (she's prediabetic) was also told to have a low carb diet, she switched to using Carisma and spud potatoes... and to me they tastes just as good! is that an option for your diet plan at all?

Hey @rav3n
I am also pre diabetic. The doctor suggested that if I must have potatoes to cook them the day before and then reheat them the following day. Apparently pre cooking lowers the amount of carbs. I guess I could try the low carb potatoes. I am a bit daunted right now. I think I might struggle the next 3 days. I haven’t really tried very hard to lose weight for a while so I have gotten into some bad habits.

@Oaktree not the potatoes 😂. I'll just have to eat extra for you, I don't mind.
Hope all goes well for you though. Yummy banana smoothies 😋

i hear that @Oaktree my mum also struggled at the start, creating those new habits is not something that can be rushed. don't forget to be kind to yourself! there were times when my mum felt really guilty for certain food choices, but with time and patience, she was able to find a balance that felt sustainable. i have complete faith you will too, it's just the start part that's nerve-wracking, but with time, you'll find your balance too.
also that's interesting what you mentioned about the reheating as well, going to share that with my mum!
