Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Hi @Emelia8

I hear you and feel for you a lot. You’ve gone through so much over the past few years.
@Shaz51 offered good suggestions on making each room different and the way you would like it. A new painting or a pot plant.
I also like @Eve7  idea of a new puppy.
thinking of you my friend. Pls take care. Xxxxoooo

ps. You gotta wonder sometimes about MH hospitals snd giving out meds!!!

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Dear @Emelia8 ,

it is great that you are home.

What would make you feel safer? I am sure that you already have good security.

if you don’t want to have all those meds at home ask you dr or pharmacy to hold them for you.

I also think a new dog is a good idea, but it may well be too soon for you and I’d consider a rescue dog .having responsibility for another living creature is a good distraction and rewarding and may make you feel safer as well.

i hope that your oncologist appointment goes well and you can soon get the scan of your back done.

keep making those pots of tea and just sit in a quiet place in the autumn sun.

Peri❤️❤️

Ohh my awesome sister @Emelia8 , how are you feeling,  been thinking of you lots  xxxx

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Been feeling really low today @Shaz51 ♥  You must have known,  as your post was well timed.

I dont know ...  its a combination of things I think.  COVID has me feeling congested and foggy in the head the last few days.  My back and leg pain has been worse too,   probably not helped by the covid coughing over the past week or 10 days.  So that has me feeling down too.

I just got a call from my new clinical psychologist that I saw last Saturday.  She was ringing to check on me.  😱  We had agreed that I would hand over most of my opiate painkillers to my chemist for safe keeping.  But I had to admit I hadnt done so yet.  😔  So I am feeling bad about that too now.  Not getting anything right.

@Peri @BlueBay @Anastasia @Faith-and-Hope  @Bow @Eve7 @Appleblossom  Several of you mentioned I should get a little dog.  I would LOVE to get another dog.  I know I can never replace Holly,  but I wouldnt be doing that.  But at this stage I just cant. I may have to up and sell my home because I cannot manage it on my own.  Plus its highly likely I will need more surgery.  Not a good time for a new puppy or doggy 😔

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Thinking of you this morning @Emelia8  im really glad that your new psychologist called to check in on you. A new dog 🐶 sounds perfect but of course the timing needs to suit. And I’m sorry that you may need to sell your house, that of course must be a difficult decision to be facing.
thinking of you 💕

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

hi @Emelia8

after reading your post i think @Shaz51 is right.  Leave the idea of a puppy for now. you really need to look after yourself first.

you're on a big property? maybe some little unit would be good for you @Emelia8  with very little maintenance.

thinking of you, hope today is a bit easier for you xxxooo

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

I am thinking of one of those over 55 places @BlueBay @Bow @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @Peri .  Where I am now is on 3 acres.  Not big, but more than I can manage on my own, especially with an ongoing back problem which is unlikely to get much better. With or without further surgery. Plus the house is large too - its 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2 large living areas, large outdoor entertaining area - and there is only me.  Yes I have occasional visitors, which can include step children and up to 4 step grandchildren, but usually only 2 grandkids at any one time.  So it makes perfect sense to downsize.  I just find it difficult to make the decision. Hubby loved this place, and I like it here too.  And its such a massive job to sell, and very disruptive.  You would know all about that @BlueBay .

Yes unfortunately a puppy needs to wait for now.  Which is sad because I really do need a puppy.  Just having a little being here with me would make a huge difference to helping me feel safe on my own again. And having something that needs me again is probably just what I need.  Oh well.

Emelia 🌸🐶
