Hello dear @Emelia8
it appears notifications have not been working so apologies I'm only getting back yo you now 😞
My boy just called and so far so good. I did tell him I am right there with him as far as anxiety goes and I too would appreciate a magic pill right about now... he laughed and hopefully it made him feel a little better 🙂
You are right as far as chucking in the towel, I am very lucky to have this opportunity so would be crazy to walk away under the circumstances, just have to keep pushing forward and I am making some dents in the workload.
your Dad xox
Yay, so please to hear the GP was on time for the second attempt and you now hubby is sorted for a little while 🙂 Hopefully he is happy that the dates are in the diary for what he needs 🙂
"So ... did you call your GP" Yes I did, he said there is nothing to worry about and his assumption around a blockage was based on the high levels of choloesterol which are unusually high without a blockage and he has put it down to the good old genetics. So all good news for now and I will do some research around trying to lower it to avoid meds in the future. 🙂
I am aware your dreaded date is approaching Em, is there anything we can do here to help to protect and prepare you. I just want to wrap you up in cotton wool/bubble wrap and whisk you away to somewhere divine. Perhaps we can all don our wings and flutter around for the fews days before and explore? Please have a think around what support we can provide cause I sure as heck want to I just am at a loss as to how to best support you. You are truly a gift and I treasure you so much.
Love you more xox

Thanks @Peri . Little Holly is doing pretty well thank you. I rang and made an appointment with the vet for her on Friday. He wanted to check her 7 days after her surgery. And yeah ... of course I am spoiling my little girl. Its really hard not to.
I have been trying to rest up a bit this week. And very thankful not having to travel or stay away every week day, now that radiation is finished. Yes, still very tired. But there are several reasons for that. Fatigue is a side effect of the radiation, often getting much worse in the weeks after its finished. And also the oral chemo pills have a very common side effect of fatigue. So I'm destined to feel the effects I suppose. If not from one, then the other.
How are your little doggies going? And are you feeling any better this week, after being very down last week?
Sending some love your way Peri.

I had a session of bars again today as I had sooooo much to banish (50 years worth) and one just didn't do the job...hopefully I learned from the last time not to push myself and then falliin a heap. I am feeling ridiculously relaxed and now pumped for a good nights sleep tonight as I can't remember the last time I had one! My boy is on his way home...he did it!!!!! He sounds happy. Can't waiti to see him and hear the details.
Love you more Em, thank you for your support and words of wisdom xox
P.S hope you come back with some ideas for me re previous message (crossing fingers)

Hi @Anastasia 😊 Yes I think you're right that notifications were down around lunch time for a while. I had thought things were pretty quiet, then noticed there were posts, but no notifications. Hope I havent missed any tags anywhere. Anyway ... no need to apologise. I do not expect any immediate responses. Besides ... you are working. 👍💓
Glad to hear that your Boy was doing okay earlier, and lets hope that continued for the remainder of his day. Ha ha, well done for lightening the mood and making him feel less alone by making a joke about wanting a magic pill for anxiety. I do hope you made a significant dent in that workload through the day?
Yes it was a relief that we werent kept waiting at the GPs the second time. And got everything sorted for his upcoming specialist apts. He needed a couple of referrals for them, which they had failed to let us know about. I only found out because I spent about 2 hours on hold to the outpatient clinic in the City south of here, to ask. And not only did they not inform us that they needed a new referral, the Endocrinologist failed to send blood test requests. Without them, there would be no point in attending the apt on 22nd Feb. This is the specialist who is treating him for his adrenal failure, and blood tests are the driving force for any changes to his life saving meds. So it was worth waiting on the phone for so long. It just frustrates me that you have to chase these things all the time. If I hadnt chased it up, we would have driven the 2 hours to the city for the apt on the 22nd Feb. And likely been told that they couldnt see him because they did not have a current referral. And if they did see him, they would look at him and say 'we need blood tests'. A wasted trip in other words. So I have now faxed the referral to them that the GP gave us this morning. And the GP cant request the blood tests because they are very specialised. So the specialist will need to get the form here asap to allow time for the tests to be done and results back in time for the apt. Worried it may not reach here in time via snail mail, which takes longer these days. So I asked if they could email the request form to me instead, just in case. They said they would, but so far nothing has turned up.
Ohhh that is such good news @Anastasia .. I am so pleased to hear that your heart is okay. One less worry for you to have to deal with. Good luck with finding ways to naturally lower cholesterol. Its pretty hard, especially when you have genetics heavily weighed against you. But I think many of the cholesterol lowering medications have some not-so-nice side effects. So its always preferable not to have to take medications if it can be avoided.
Your post made me cry @Anastasia .. to think that you care enough to ask how best to support me over the coming weeks. And your lovely words. That was so thoughtful of you, and I appreciate it so very much. Please let me think about that and let you know.
Made a couple of appointments today ... I have an appointment with the optometrist tomorrow for an eye check. And got an appointment for Holly at the vet for Friday. And I had my appointment with the exercise physiologist/physio this afternoon too. Had my initial assessment and intro to the pilates class. Covered all the things I wanted from the class, and went through all the injuries and anything which may make it difficult. That went pretty well and I am booked in for next Tuesday morning. Working on maintaining movement and function for my back injury and my shoulder injuries, plus bone health due to toxic little pills, and generally just exercising for overall better health. The physio and I appear to be on the same page. We went through a lot of stuff.
Right ... hubby just staggered through the front door after a couple of drinks with his mates. I'd better get some dinner on the table. Love you @Anastasia 💖
Thanks so much @Snowie 🙏🌹

Oops @Anastasia ... your latest message came through while I was typing my other one to you. Had a few interuptions due to phone calls etc.
Good to hear you had another bars session, and that its resulted in a feeling of relaxation. Hope it extends to a good nights sleep.
Phew ... thats great about your Boy. Day one down and all is well. Yes .. he did it indeed! You are such a good mum. Hope you enjoy dinner tonight and get to talk about his day .. with both he and his girlfriend.
Yes I will think about your question .. its not something I've really thought about before, but I should. I see my psych next Wednesday of course. And I usually see her a little more regularly around this time of year, depending on how I'm going. I will get back to you if I think of anything which may help. I so much appreciate you asking.

Hi @Former-Member and thanks for the lovely pic you posted, thats so sweet of you. 😊💓🙏 Really pleased that you were able to catch up with your Brizzy friend yesterday and enjoyed a lovely lunch. Its so nice to be able to reconnect with old friends. If you are back on the road today ... please drive carefull and travel safe. Much love.
Thank you so much @Snowie. I have an appointment with my optometrist today. I feel that my eyes have deteriorated somewhat lately, so I may need new glasses. The oral chemo has a side effect of eyesight deterioration as well, so definitely something I need to keep an eye on I guess. Pardon the pun. I hope your day has some positives in it Snowie.
@Eve7... I hope that your ECT goes well today and does not knock you around too much. Look forward to catching up with you afterwards if you're up to it. Sending love and hugs to a special lady.
@Anastasia... hello dear friend. Hoping your work day goes well, whether you are back in the office or working from home. And also hoping your Boy has another good day today. Doing something you love is a great incentive to do well. Fingers crossed for you both.
I note that notifications have continued to lag badly since lunchtime yesterday. But maybe they are beginning to resolve a little bit this morning. Hope so anyway.
Hi also to @greenpea @BlueBay @Owlunar @Adge @outlander @WIP @Bow @Sans911 @Peri etc

Good morning beautiful @Emelia8
Finally your messages came through...
I am sorry to hear about the lack of follow up on the Gp’s behalf, it’s a good thing you are so organised and caring otherwise hubby would be in a pickle!!! Very frustrating for both you and hubby. Well done for your persistence and dedication, you are a wonderful carer/wife to hubby Em. My GP emailed my pathology referral to the pathologist, when I had forgotten I had to pick it up recently, perhaps yours can do that for you too?
Hopefully you have received it yourself by now anyway?
As far as lowering my cholesterol, my Naturopath suggested fibre and supplements, worth a shot I guess as I can’t tweak my food a great deal to make improvements there.
Oh I didn’t mean to make you cry, of course I care enough 😊
You are very special to me... It’s funny if ever my bf and I marry you are already on the list, it will be a very small ceremony with immediate family but would not be the same without you
As far as asking you how to best support you, I was hesitant because part of me thought I should just know, but then I thought no, I need to give you an opportunity to let me know cause more than anything I and I know your other friends here would want nothing more than to support you the best way possible so I look forward to hearing from you when you have a chance to, thank you xoxo
Not sure what time your optometrist appointment is, but I wish you luck and will be there in spirit with you, perhaps to select a nice new frame even? I always like to have someone by my side as finding the right frame is never easy. Do you have to wear glasses for reading or other? I wear mine to watch TV and drive, although I really should wear them all of the time as my eye sight is questionable at the best of times.
Your appointment with the exercise physiologist/physio to start a weekly Pilates class sounds fabulous. Good for you! Something for yourself…I can’t love this enough.
My boy loved his day yesterday, and a miracle came and got him out of bed this morning and he’s off again!!! (pinching myself)
Today I believe he won’t finish till early evening – I guess I will learn more as his day progresses.
It was a girlfriend of mine that joined us for dinner last night and sadly she was more connected to her phone than us so I felt a little dejected once she left. I wanted to ask her why she does this as each time we catch up it happens, but I left it. It leaves me wondering about why she bothers really.
Thank you for saying I am a good Mum, I try…funny I spoke of my shortfalls around parenting with my Naturopath yesterday as I am aware that as parents we are only equipped with the tools that we have from our own upbringing. Being on my own and I always did the best I could, and my unconditional love was always there in abundance. Her interpretation is that in a divine way my boys "choose me" and that I provided them with what they needed when they needed it.. an interesting perspective. Right or wrong they turned out ok, good people and like all of us will learn more and evolve as they travel through their life journey.
I too hope that I haven’t missed any tags from yesterday, makes it little tricky when that happens.
I did get through quite a lot of work yesterday thank you, I am determined to repeat again today. Lots of little projects that I am just chipping away at and will all come to fruition in time 😊
Enjoy your day beautiful, love you more
