Well that has taken a load off,
Extensions granted for assessment that we haven't started yet. (Material yet to be covered later in the semester). I emailed lecturers and course coordinators today requesting extensions for future tasks and they have once again been most supportive. I honestly could not continue with my current studies without the universities commitment to making study achievable for everyone.
I also have an extension for the task due this Friday so feeling much relieved.

Pressed send too soon,
I have a group meeting tomorrow to work on some group assesment, will have to have an honest discussion with them to ensure they are happy to work with me knowing I am not currently putting in 100%. If they are happy with my input then I may be able to continue with my current study load. have to make a decision by Friday. If I withdraw after Friday I would have to pay the fees for the semester and it would be listed as a fail on my academic record.

Disappointing news this afternoon.
One of the schools we applied to have S1 attend next year contacted me to let us know they would not be able to accept his enrollment 😞 unfortunately they dont have the resources to support him. Waiting game now to see what the special school has to say.
Not knowing for certain where he is going is causinb a good deal of anxiety for both S1 and my darling. I so far have been able to keep my head firmly planted in thd sand but have to admit I am a little rattled afternoons news 😞

So some good and bad news for you today @Determined. I'm happy that the uni has been very accommodating with your situation. That must be a load off your mind. I'm sure the group work can be sorted out as well. That must be very uplifting for you.
Sorry then that you received unfavourable news on S1's school front. Did you just have the two options aor are there any other alternatives. Was this the private school? Was that one your first preference?
The special school would be state run and funded so they should be able to accept him provided he fits their criteria. They would be staffed on Day 8 figures at the start of the school year. When do you expect an answer from them?

Yes it was the private school @soul, having helped out in the class before I believe he could have thrived there however I am aware that they have to consider the other students in the class also.
There are 2 other schools that have special needs units however the head of dept at his current is concerned that they are unsuitable for specific reasons. I am concerned how he will go emotionally if he is in the wrong environment.

Under existing guidelines he would be eligible for enrollment at the special school, under new guidelines effective start of next term it will be borderline 😐
Current school is going to argue his case with the review panel when they meet to make decisions on enrollments. It could be end of school year before we get an answer.

You'd be best to visit the school during regular hours and get a feel of the vibe there @Determined. Have a talk to the staff. Check out the layout, what programs they run and assistance they can offer.

That was the plan before my darling went away again, waiting for her to come home now as she wants to be included and I think it is good for both of us to go along. More important to get onto it now that our preferred school is ruled out.
