Good evening,
I totally understand why this conversation started. I don't receive any email notifications but the notification bell at the top of my screen told me I had about a trillion notifications earlier today.
However, I would be super sad to not have the edit button for the simple reason that I am creating a table of contents on the first post of the DBT thread and obviously that has to be a work in progress. I am mindful of people getting an email each time I edit it, and thus I only do so every now and again and do a whole lot of updating of it at the one time. So...I'm thinking that the edit button is a good thing, but people do need to perhaps be a little mindful of repeatedly editing the same post.
Oh and by the way, if anyone wants to visit the DBT thread, it's here. Pssssst, @CheerBear did you see what I did there? That advertisement for the DBT thread was so subtle, I think it almost counts as subliminal advertising!

I vote to keep the edit button,
but I can understand a little frustration at multiple notifications.
I just overlook it if I see a whole lot in a row, so its no biggie for me either.

I wonder if it is possible to only have a notification for the original post but not edited versions. Just a thought as I like to be able to edit but also mindful that multiple edits can be confusing or annoying. Just my thought.

I like to be able to edit, but perhaps we just need to be mindful to 9nly edit a post if we really feel we have to, and then maybe only once.
Glad we are having open dialogue about it all.
I was editing far more often when I first arrived here, and someone gently pointed out to me that it resulted in multiple post notifications. I appreciated that the person let me know, and said so kindly.

Thanks for creating a new thread, and thanks for everyones opinions about it all.
It's nice to know what everyone else thinks. Particularly as I find it a very important issue and I am still very very upset about the past things that have happened, and I did not feel properly supported or heard at the time, although I decided to let the matter drop. (I recollect being strong armed out the room I was so upset)
Sorry if I'm a bit emotive..... I've had more than a few.
If it's an issue for other people too, I think it is something that needs to be discussed by the powers that be.
Another thing..... Can we please change the colours in the background and 'highlight' colour in the notification page. I have vision problems and I don't find the colour contrast is sufficient between new and old posts. I can see it if I fiddle with my own graphics, but then I have to re-fiddle them back to use other sites. Could we increase the colour depth and contrast on that page please?
