Thank you kindly @MDT 🙌🏻😀

really appreciate it ☺️

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Thanks @tyme and @Zoe7,

I look forward to hopefully helping, maybe sometimes making people laugh in the process. Welcome to all the other new Peer Guides 😊

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Hey @tyme @Shaz51 @Former-Member and all.

I have had the privilege of being a CG here on the forums for several years now. I also have an interest/background in research so over the years I been involved in some of the research projects SANE has run in various ways. One of those is the most recent co-design and contributions in the Hub. The Hub is a separate part of the site where those interested have participated in providing their opinions, feedback, suggestions and views. SANE does a lot aside from the forums - the Peer Guide program being one and the Guided Service another. I have also been involved in the Guided Service. The other area I am particularly interested in/passionate about is advocacy - especially on behalf of those with lived experience here.

Outside of SANE I love my work as a teacher and spending time with my fur babies. I also love art, gardening and renovationg my home. All of those things keep me very busy so finding the balance is essential (not something I always do successfully though).

@Shaz51 Your turn - tell us about yourself my sister.

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Hey @Miss-wish It is really nice to see you transferring into this new role. I hope the course and your involvement here is fulfilling.

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Hey there @Zoe7 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing some of your history and experiences with SANE, it really means a lot as a new peer guide to hear how being a part of the forums and other programs (not sure if that’s the correct term?) holds lots of value and meaning - it’s really encouraging 🙂🌺

In time, hearing more about the Hub and Guided Services would be really interesting, if you think it’s ok to share more about them? No pressure, though 🙂

And it’s really nice of you to share about life beyond the forums and the importance of keeping some balance - even if not always possible! ☺️

🙂🌺

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Hey @Former-Member I have come from the deepest depths of the well where I did not imagine surviving to a place know where my experiences with MH have opened up avenues that I did not know even existed let alone would have found myself part of. Sometimes it is hard to find that balance between work, home and the other things I am involved with but all of it I enjoy so find a way.

Out of the Hub there will be focus groups soon so there will be opportunities for yourself and other members to lend their voice to the future of the forums.

I have mixed feelings about the Guided Service - lots that need to improve with that service but the basic structure and the benefits have merit.

Re: Welcome Peer Guides!

Thank you @tyme@Zoe7, I look forward to meeting everybody and getting to know you all. I am excited to contribute and share my own lived experience journey to empower others for positive change. Education is very important to me, I am still learning every day and I look forward to continuing to learn from you all. Thank you so much.
