Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here ๐
Hi everyone,
Hi [edited by moderator] Iโm here because I recently got out of an emotionally abusive relationship with a narcissist. For over a year, I was trapped in a cycle of manipulation, gaslighting, and control. He cheated on me, constantly belittled me, and made me question my own reality. He isolated me from my family and friends, went through my phone without my permission, and would threaten me whenever I stood up for myself. Every time I tried to express my feelings or set boundaries, he would twist things around to make me feel like the problem. I spent so much time walking on eggshells, always afraid of what might set him off.
Then, just as suddenly as he pulled me in, he discarded me and moved on to someone else in no timeโlike I never even mattered. Now that itโs over, Iโm left feeling confused, questioning if I was the cause of everything that went wrong. My self-worth has taken a huge hit, and I struggle with severe anxiety and people-pleasing. I constantly fear upsetting others or being abandoned again.
I know deep down that this wasnโt my fault, but healing feels overwhelming, and I donโt always trust my own judgment anymore. Iโm here to connect with others who understand, to find support, and to start rebuilding myself after everything Iโve been through. I look forward to sharing, learning, and healing alongside all of you.

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here ๐
Hey @AlinaNoscova, thank you for sharing your experiences with the community!
It sounds like you have been through a tough time with your ex-partner and you are demonstrating your strength and resilience by reaching out to your peers here on the Forums.
Nobody deserves to to go though what you discribed here. And I so please to hear that you know deep down that it wasn't your fault and I think it's probably normal to not trust your own judgement anymore. I have had relationships that made me not trust myself as well and it is an uncomfortable feeling in my experience.
I encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and feelings wiht the community and they can provide some valuable insights.
Take care
RiverSeal

Re: Welcome! Introduce yourself here ๐
- Hi there google navigated me to this organisation because I wanted to find a live space to talk about my current mental health problems.
- I'm actually a mental health professional myself but my work and recent emigration here has caught up with me. So grateful that I can hopefully connect with others on here as Iโm asking a lot of my family and partner back home now, becoming very stressful.
- Fun fact hmm. Used to be a semi pro soccer player in my youth.
- Not really sure what else to say right now, hoping I could just chat with people maybe.
