Hi everyone, I've come to SANE for help. I have a family family and live remotely. I yell every day at them both over the smallest things. I believe it is because I have unresolved trauma that is making me angry. But I'm not sure and seeking help. Our mental health team at our local hospital isn't very useful to me. The staff turnover is so high, there isn't much consistency, and I can't afford private psychology. I want to make changes and be a better person for my family.

Hi Iβm new here. Looking to find strategies to reframe thinking and overall outlook. Struggle with low mood and blunt affect. Diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and substance use disorder. No social network or family/friend supports. Isolated and no meaningful activity. Hoping to find people who get βitβ and understand.

Welcome @Frame
I'm glad that you've been able to reach out here and I hope that it's a really positive first step for you.
I hear how hard it can be to find the right support for you, particularly with the costs attached to many of them. I wonder if you'd consider telehealth psychology sessions? There are a number of services that operate as online clinics and can offer bulk-billed appointments with a mental health care plan from your gp (up to 10 sessions a year). If this interests you, a search of "bulk billed telehealth psychology clinic" should bring up a number of relevant results
Other free services that might be helpful are SANE's guided recovery program, or BlueKnot, who specialise in complex trauma, and lastly without knowing you gender this one may or may not be relevant to you - Mensline
I hope that there is something in here that is helpful to you, and again, good on you for taking this step in reaching out

Hi, i recently got diagnosed with emerging BPD and was just wondering if anyone has experienced it. Also will the symptoms get worse as i get older, i am already experiencing hallucinations, dissociation, severe mood swings, impulsive behaviors, etc, etc.
I am also doing a school project called AIF which is a new subject, my goal was to make up a business for teenagers and young adults who have personality and mood disorders. Can anyone give me any ideas of what they would want as treatment, what type of help they want but don't get, anything is useful. Thank you β€οΈ

Hi @kadi_ and welcome
We certainly do have members who have also received a BPD diagnosis and I'd be happy to share some threads that might be helpful, first I did just want to check, as you've mentioned doing a school project, whether you're under 18?

Hi @Frame
I'm not a qualified health professional and I have my own issues, but I am drawn to ask you about your circumstances and history.
(I have rarely expressed anger as I keep my emotions bottled up or if angry I take a breath to calm down and try to have a calm conversation.
I tend to be disappointed in others which leads me to be depressed).
Can you list any things that happen that trigger you to be angry?
(I know you said you don't know why, but I'm sure their must be a pattern behind your angry outbursts)
Can you consider trying to pause before reacting, and then see if their is a calm way to explain what is going on for you.
Are you discussing this with anyone to get some help?
Let me know if you wish. It might help you to just write it down and post it.
Keep going
@Zol

Thanks for confirming that @kadi_ π
A good thread that comes to mind it this one
There's some good info on the SANE website too:
Borderline personality disorder (BPD)
I hope these are helpful while you wait to connect with other members who have a lived experience of BPD here
