Re: not coping

I hope the massage went well @outlander and it helped.

It's hard when paying bills comes before our health. I'm sure more time off would have been ideal. I know your work is demanding so can you go back on light duties at all? Just don't want you to make things worse and go back to the start.

Re: not coping

i can go back to light duties but means i wont be able to work as much as i was before @Snowie id like to go back to doing 4 light duty shifts though so would mean night shifts or short weekend shift where i only do half the shift without the intensive part of it.

massage was lovely and i got picked up by a friend and went to dinner. its the first time ive been out of the house in 8 days so it was nice

Re: not coping

I'm sure it was nice to get out of the house @outlander

I guess easing back into work is the right thing to do so you don't overdo it hon.

Re: not coping

yeah i have to be on light duties for around another 4-5 weeks so i dont have much choice but with surgery out of the way i dont feel like i have to work 24/7 now. i have fallen behind ina few bills though so id like to try and catch up on some of those. @Snowie
i wish i could pause all bills and focus on one at a time but it doesnt seem to work like that!

Re: not coping

hey @tyme

Re: not coping

Hey @outlander @Snowie!

Missed you both 🙂

How's your recovery @outlander  - oh, and you too @Snowie - recuperating from some big weeks?

Re: not coping

recovery is slow @tyme but i had a massage today and went to dinner.
i would like to try and get back to work next week as im out of sick leave at the end of this week and bills are still coming in

Re: not coping

Yes, recovery is slow. Please take care if you go back to work.

I can see how financial stressors can exacerbate things.

I'm so glad to hear you had a massage today 🙂 And I want to reiterate this AGAIN, it has been so so nice to see you around more (as I've said before, I'm not telling you to have another surgery!).

I remember we used to chat all the time. About your sister, about the horses, about your pop... it was such a great time to get to know you more.

With your work, it is considered something like your own business? @outlander

Re: not coping

i have spoken to one company who said i could go back to just nights which are the 'easy' shifts. no personal care or heavy lifting etc just working the machines but once set up theyre generally ok. and a little bit of cleaning which i can do slowly @tyme

i want to keep being here abit more. leading up to surgery, some weeks were 120 hours long sometimes longer so it was hard but i cant go back to that. its to much, i just want to live comfortably and be able to put a little bit aside in savings each fortnight.

i already work for myself @tyme but not under a business name. in disability its call an independent support worker so i have my own insurances, abn etc and i have to do my own taxes, invoices, put money into my super etc. but i like the companies. its less admin atm and i dont have to think about how much of each invoice i need to put where and chasing unpaid invoices etc which becomes a problem sometimes.

Re: not coping

im not getting any notifications either @tyme
