Re: Riding a wave

@Former-Member big big big scared. I thought I'd done something else wrong and you weren't going to Forum Land or email talk to me anymore. Big scared. Super giant scared. My body hurts from the big scared feelings but I can see that you are here. Super big thank you for checking in.

Re: Riding a wave

I hear that @Phoenix_Rising.

Yes I am here and watching this space for now.

Any ideas of what you can do to help support yourself with these feelings now?

Re: Riding a wave

@Catcakes This was the first time I've ever called TTT. Given that the only words I could get out to the receptionist were "talk TTT" and I hung up after she said TTT has gone home for the day, they won't even know it was me.

The rule with TTT is that I can email once a week. She is flexible though and I get the sense that if there was an extreme crisis, she would respond to a second email. The other week she phoned me for the first time because we had to talk through what she was going to do about the fact that someone from a particular mental health service had thought it appropriate to contact her to see if I'd appeared at my appointment, rather than cont*ct me directly to check if I was still alive. It was a bit funny, given that we had discussed in our appointment that I would respond if anyone bothered to check on me and thus she and I didn't need to talk about what she should do if someone contacted her. It never occurred to either of us that they would contact her before trying me!

I wouldn't cope with a no-contact-between-sessions therapist. I really don't understand how that is supposed to work. I guess because TTT is so attachment-focused, she super gets that need for contact. It's also why she made the squiggles for me to play with and drew me a picture of a turtle. These act as what are called transition objects - i.e. as a way of keeping a bit of her with me.

Look how fast my words came back after @Former-Member appeared! That is the difference between flooded terrified lizard brain turtle and feeling-safe-again turtle. Smiley Happy

Super big thank you for caring about me @Catcakes. I'm sorry I'm in more of a taking than a giving state at the moment.

Re: Riding a wave

I feel a trillion times calmer now @Former-Member. I was so so so scared you had gone more away.

Do you want to see something super cool? I've been wanting to show you. How cool is this! I think @OhanaSystem and @CheerBear might like it too. I think @CheerBear should definitely share this with the LF...maybe while they are all on a long car ride together! Smiley Happy

My daughter is reading this book at her school. I thought it would be fun to put this great book from Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees to some silly music. By the way all the music you hear was created using ukuleles. Update 6/17/2014 As requested by Asali Sunshine here are the chords for this ...

Loved it @Phoenix_Rising - and you know I loooove giraffes Smiley Very Happy

Re: Riding a wave

I’m so glad @Former-Member turned up @Phoenix_Rising. I can feel how much better you feel. It’s ok that you sometimes you need to be given to more than give . I’ve been struggling with Forum a lot lately and I have missed your presence.
I find it hard to have no therapist contact between sessions but because I have been so busy looking after Mum, time between sessions has flown. My next appointment is 11 days away but my partner has some important appointments to attend and I will accompany him so I would have struggled to get to see my therapist anyway. He has some major health problems.
I’m sure your evening will go much more smoothly with Pebbles around.🌿

Re: Riding a wave

thank you little turtle @Phoenix_Rising for tagging me so we could watch that too. we are having a really tough time and it helped to brighten our day a little

Re: Riding a wave

After having the chicken dance stuck in my head twice over the last week, I was a little reluctant to click on another of your suggestions for things I should share with the LF @Phoenix_Rising 😆 But I am glad I did. Love it 😊

(Also very glad to read you feel a trillion times calmer too)
