Re: Riding a wave

Waiting is super hard @Phoenix_Rising but @Faith-and-Hope and I are sitting here with you

Re: Riding a wave

But it's not just today @Zoe7. It isn't like the event happened just a few days ago. THREE MONTHS this has been going on. It just goes on and on and on and gets worse and worse and worse. I get more and more ignored and more and more shut down. This mess is fixable if they would just TALK about it. Why oh why oh why is it so hard to simply TALK. I'm not angry, I don't hate anyone, I'm not out for revenge or retribution. I'm traumatised and I need to talk. Talking would help. Some of it ISN'T fixable. My attachment system IS destroyed. But some of it is fixable. Talking could help to heal some of it. Why oh why oh why can't a service that self-identifies as being trauma informed see that???

Re: Riding a wave

I hear you @Phoenix_Rising and I know this has been going on for you for many months. I am sure none of this is easy for anyone but especially for you. You need to be able to see something is being done and for you that is also by being able to talk - this is so very hard for you and I am sorry that it can't happen the way you need it to - I really am

Re: Riding a wave

While I don’t have any answers and we have to wait @Phoenix_Rising .... here is another story for you.  If you don’t want to look at it now, that’s okay ..... another time maybe.

My mother gave us a similar book about good news and bad news and good news and bad news ..... but it wasn’t this one.  Maybe the one we had was censored for this day and age, because it had an aeroplane .... and a parachute .... and the parachute didn’t open but there was a haystack conveniently placed ..... and so on .... and maybe it was changed for modern children .....

I hope this one is okay for you.

Good News Bad News by Jeff Mack is a funny children's book that helps us see the good and differences in everything. Children will love this entertaining and silly book about good news and bad news and what makes the different. An optimistic look at dealing with adversity and change. A wonderful ...

Hearing you, @Phoenix_Rising. I'm sorry it's so hard. It shouldn't be this hard. Smiley Sad

Really @Shaz51? Well that's very odd. Smiley LOL

I wonder what @OhanaSystem can see in that one?

I see a dragon! I can also see the horse, but can't for the life of me find the bunny!

Re: Riding a wave

What about this one @OhanaSystem .... ?

Can you see the bunny here ?

Re: Riding a wave

@Phoenix_Rising Oh! Thank you. I didn't even realise SANE had a helpline you could call other than the one for gaining information.

Also, apologies if it sounded like I was pushing BK! I didn't mean to, I was more musing 'out loud' about my own situation in regard to calling them.

I'm so sorry things are hard again today, and that you're having to wait and feeling unheard. We hear you, here, though I know it's not where you want/need to be heard. I understand, too, how it's feeling like you're back in the same situation, told not to talk about something that makes you feel so hurt and afraid. I hope you get some answers soon.

@Faith-and-Hope Thank you for the story even though it was for phoenix rising. The littles and I enjoyed it a lot. I'm still waiting for the newest picture to load, so I'll let you know in a while!

Re: Riding a wave

@OhanaSystem SANE have the one helpline. Sorry if I've confused you.

I didn't feel you were pushing BK at all. Smiley Happy

I'm glad you and the littles enjoyed the story that @Faith-and-Hope posted the link to. One of my coping strategies is to listen to stories together-but-not with @CheerBear and others here in Forum Land. It is on my to-do list to create a new thread with all our favourite stories. Here is my absolute favourite one for you and the littles. Smiley Happy

If you liked it, check out my narration of the 'Gruffalo's Child': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibctn5G-_dg This is for my kids, so I can read them a bedtime story whenever I'm away. They think I do the best Gruffalo narration on the web ... but they would, wouldn't they. Let me know if you ...

Re: Riding a wave

No, that's okay. I didn't know you could call them for support as well as information. 🙂

That's a wonderful coping strategy! I liked that book, too. Some of the littles were a little too scared for it, but the older ones liked it too. 🙂

This is my favourite story ever. It's a little bit sad in parts, and it's a bit long, but it's got a lovely ending.

The littles have three big favourites between them: 'Stellaluna', 'Owl Babies', and 'I'll Always Love You'. If you like, I'll find (or make) one or all of those for you as well.
