I had a good day and so did the LF thanks. And we really have learnt to find each other in the dark now too - very cool 🙂

Re: Riding a wave
Psssst @CheerBear,
So...it seems like we are up to the doing bit in our DBT adventure. Um...do we know what we are doing??? Have you had any further thoughts about which schedule you want to follow? I totally a bazillion percent don't mind.
My book of all the handouts arrived today - yay!!!!!! So...where do we start??? I still can't believe the DBT skills manual went from 180 pages in 1993 to around 900 pages now. I SO didn't know that when I decided to embark on this adventure. Oh well, it just makes for an extra super exciting adventure.

Re: Riding a wave
Ok...so the plan is that we will plan to make a plan regarding what schedule to follow, by tomorrow night. And then one of us will do a post about how the doing thing might be done. Yep, that all sounds clear to me.
I agree that we should aim to do a bit each week, like the yoga adventure. I really can't see us getting through all the material assigned to each week in a week though. I think DBT groups normally run for about three hours per week don't they? That is a LOT of material to cover in writing.
I am a bit crazy busy with my marking adventure at the moment. I so badly wish I could share some of the bizarre answers with you.

Re: Riding a wave
@NikNik are you watching over the ocean tonight? Whoever was watching last night must have been H20 intolerant.
Look, @CheerBear and I are in DBT planning headquarters. I super love living in Forum Land and having a not friend to have adventures with together but not.

Re: Riding a wave
The plan to make a plan to have a plan sounds like a good one @Phoenix_Rising 😄
Just like the journey our books had to get to us, I think we'll all be able to wing it whatever way we go.
I so wish you could share some of your marking gig with me too (and so much enjoy these adventures also)
Goodnight 🙂

Re: Riding a wave
Good morning @CheerBear,
I have had another look at the schedules and I do super like schedule 1. I was thinking...you know how it repeats the orientation and mindfulness skills between each module? Given that we are doing this all in writing, I don't think we need to do that. Instead, we could just give everyone a reminder to look over that stuff and post the link to the page where we start it the first time around. What do you think of that for an idea? That would mean the 24 week schedule would become 20 weeks...which is only 6 weeks longer than schedule 5.
Having said that, I really can't see us getting through each week's information in a week. I don't know about you, but I'm just not going to be able to read and process that much information in a week. When I was looking at the schedule this morning it occurred to me that I would like to cross out the word "week" at the top of the column and write "step" in its place. Although... it may just be the first couple of weeks that I'm looking at and seeing as very full on because mindfulness is covered in 2 weeks (along with the orientation module) whereas the other modules are covered in 5-7 weeks. Do you have any thoughts about this?
Now...we also have another tiny little hiccup to contend with. CheerBear... it is looking like X is going to happen very soon. I am in a much better space to survive X than I was at the beginning of the year...but not quite as good a space as I was in before a muddle happened a few weeks ago that I haven't shared here in Forum Land. The awesomely amazing birthday party that you and Zoe created for me helped SO MUCH in helping me have a sense that I could survive X. It helped so so SO much. And for the couple of months after that, X felt super survivable. And then the muddle of the other week opened up the gigantic pandora's box that is the very core of my muddle, and that has made things tricky again.
Having our DBT adventure to work on will super help. I need a reason to keep on keeping on after X happens. Waiting for X to happen truly was the only reason I was staying alive during the first half of this year. I know I have more support now than I did then. I know that whatever happens with therapist-take-thirteen, my turtle whisperer is here right now and she isn't going anywhere for quite a while. I know she will sit with me through the storm of X. I know you will sit with me too. Right now it seems like it will be super super super hard, but survivable.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that. Super big thank you for being my not friend.
