@Birdofparadise8 I don’t want you take this the wrong way. I think it’s important to acknowledge your psych is not intentionally triggering emotions within in. The therapy process can be hard and a lot can come up, it can even signify recovery. Only you and your psych would know what it means. Sometimes we need to be challenged in order to grow, and we also have to learn to cope with our triggers. It’s not their fault they triggered you, likewise it’s not your fault. But ultimately the responsibility of managing emotions fall on us. I know in this scenario it’s a bit different since you’re psych is there to help you. But in other scenarios in relationships with others, the responsibility does not go to them. If someone forgets to respond to a text message, your trauma brain will tell you they don’t care, but the reality could be that they are overwhelmed and could not think up a response. You need to see beyond your response and look at things critically

I tried to make it as clear as possible how I was feeling, but it didn't seem to get across, and he kept going on about repression.

@Birdofparadise8 I don’t think his intention was to be dismissive, can’t really say either way. Miscommunication happens all the time among people, I reckon you were both on different wavelengths right then. That’s just part of human nature, you’re both different people

I can't say why I'm upset, but it's related to two online things, and I'm so upset right now. @ENKELI 

It hurts so much. I haven't been able to stop sobbing. I want to stop, but it won't stop. 

I have five things going on now. It's too much.

Take tomorrow off the table, in other words stop dwelling on the pdoc and psych for now. What are the other things that are upsetting you?

I want you to focus on how strong you are, how you will get through this. Tell me what you can and let's work through it
