Yes, they can do that a bit @Bow
It's a bit annoying. Was the applause at the end carried on a bit?
How has your day been? I'm sorry to hear about what might happen with your support worker. I seriously don't understand why they would do that.

Hey there @Birdofparadise8 🙂🌺
how’s your day going dearest? ☺️
Hey I’m so glad you got a giggle out of my lovely reference to old lady land - it makes me laugh on a daily basis! 🤭😁
Well, it took me a good number of years to recover from having a (what I consider in myself) distorted perspective which was one of blaming and seeing fault in me, despite me not doing anything to warrant how I was treated.
I felt unworthy of being able to tell myself I had the same kind of human and personal value as other people…it took some time, and lots of work. I often felt fragile..because my self worth was so low, I had very little resilience to other peoples behaviours and always thought what they did around me was my fault.
I spent lots of time remembering that despite what I had grown up with, I could give myself permission to think differently, and give myself the same consideration and care that I gave to others🙂
I just want to again gently say to you that I’m so sorry you’ve had this experience in life, and that you’re currently living with the very real impacts of persistent bullying ❤️🩹🌺🫂
I want to assure you that things do change - it’s not always easy a process, but I want to assure you that while it’s hard to come out from under the weight you’ve carried, there are people beside you who will help you to lift that weight 🙂💜🌺
🦩 PinkFlamingo..
I used to get called Pinkie when I was really little by old family ☺️
And I love flamingoes..they’re graceful, community orientated, and seem to have a sense of care for each other, which I would hope to show to others too 💜🙂🌺

Yes the applause did go on for a long time @Birdofparadise8 we waited for a bit and then had to leave cause we wanted to go to the Lego shop across town before it shut. Felt bad walking out during the applause but others were too.
yeah it’s sucks. It’s truly messed up and doesn’t make any sense. Hopefully my letter makes a difference.

I'm alright @Former-Member
I've had a uni class, and I'm working on my presentation for Wednesday.
Haha, it was funny.
Hmm, destroyed perspective. I hadn't thought about it before. How do you know if you have it?
Thank you @Former-Member
That is very kind of you to say. It has definitely taught me a few lessons, and hey, if it had never happened, I wouldn't have met all the lovely people here.
I do hope I can lift that weight one day. However, I hope it doesn't take 13 years like as long as the bullying was.
How would I know if I'm starting to lift it?
Yes, they are very pretty. I like them too.

Hey there @Birdofparadise8 🙂🌺
Doing ok here today thanks ☺️
been in meetings advocating for better health care via policy change… keeping up the good fight 🙌🏻😀🌺
How was the tutorial? I hope the presentation is coming along well for you 🙂
What makes it feel like you’re not looking forward to the presentation on Wednesday, if you don’t mind I ask dearest? 💜
I know I get really anxious around presentations because it’s my own work and I am sensitive to people judging it 🥹
However to help manage the anxiety I try to imagine I’m delivering the presentation to a friend 🙂
Do you have any tips you like to use to help manage the feeling around presentations? 🙂🌺
oh the ballet sounds lovely! I hope you really enjoy it 🙌🏻😀🌺

It must build their ego up, hahahha.
Nice, do you always buy your Lego from the Lego shop as you can get it cheaper at other places when on sale?
Can your other support in your team write a letter? @Bow

Hey there @Birdofparadise8 🙂🌺
that’s an interesting question, regarding knowing if we hold distorted perspectives… In my situation, I felt that I was holding myself to standards imposed by others, by default, but by which I would never be able to achieve. Trying to achieve unrealistic standards and changes based on other peoples negative behaviour towards me (bullying).. I finally realised that this was not actually my perspective - it was theirs, and I could build a different view or perspective of myself, based on what I knew about myself…
I knew I was a kind, helpful, and supportive person, with a sense of humour, and there were things I was very passionate about, like my education (self improvement), and building connections with people and places that looked at me and saw the good in me 🙂
Those lessons you speak of.. that is hard-earned lived experience my friend 🙂🌺💜
these experiences give you sooo much more insight into people and yourself at a much younger age than some people ever get the opportunity to learn (and of course, people shouldn’t have to learn by such harsh and harmful ways), and will actually give you skills beyond everyday life skills that you can use as a super-power later on, given enough time to come out from under the impact that this has had on you… I want to say that it’s hard to tell when things start to lift, but I did notice I was a bit more resilient, and a bit more loving towards myself in terms of not holding myself to these distortions that were projected onto me by others💜🙂
And one thing you’ve said which is so important is that you have us here on the forums - we have a brain and heart bank here of such valuable life and lived experience for you to call on, and I for one really care about your future as a young person. You have so much value, and I’m hoping you can start to see how much value you have from my eyes 🌺🙂🤗

That is very sweet @Former-Member
Your perspective on the distorted perspective is very interesting.
I'm not sure what to say. I'm sorry I can't think of anything.

Oh I’m sure it does @Birdofparadise8 id personally hate it!
can’t go to the Lego store without buying something @Birdofparadise8 !! 😂😂😂 but I only buy sets that are only available in the Lego stores. Kmart and bigw are usually the cheapest place- I have some on layby at bigw at the moment. And I bought more online this morning from the Lego store 😂😂🫣🫣 they had a buy 3 get the 4th free on the brickheadz. I’ve been collecting all the Disney character ones.

No worries @Birdofparadise8 🌺🙂
Hopefully it’s helpful in some way ☺️
Totally fine if there’s nothing to mention or no questions coming to mind, and please don’t feel you need to apologise for that 🙌🏻☺️
I hope you have a good and productive afternoon working on your presentation, all the best ☺️🌺💜
