Re: My special place

When do you go to Bali @rav3n? Whi in the family are going with you?

Went to nursing home this morning, about a 5 min drive from home. Went better this time, I think mum knew what to expect. The lady that showed us around was lovely.

She's got a friend over for lunch so have been able to have a bit of a break this afternoon.

Re: My special place

i'm leaving next Wednesday, going for a week 😊 @Snowie with mum, dad and my sis... my sis and i  have planned some stuff without our parents too so that we get some space.

yay!! so glad to hear today's tour when better, such a win!! and lovely bonus that you get that break too. what'd you get up to in your break?

Re: My special place

Not long to go then @rav3n I do hope you have a great time.

Have you or any of your family been there before?

I sat down, had a cuppa and some chocolate. It was so nice. Then when and got my nails done!!

Rest of family out so just enjoying the quietness before they all come home.

Re: My special place

thank you! @Snowie and nope, none of us have been!

sounds so peaceful!! and you got your nails done too!? yesss love the self-care treat!! what colour/design did you get?

Re: My special place

Really hope you enjoy it @rav3n We went about 8 years ago with the kids and loved it. Some days we would be tourists and other days we would just sit by the pool!

I'm not very outrageous, I normally just stick to natural colours. Just got a soft pink colour.

Re: My special place

that balance sounds perfect, i've tried to plan it like that as well - or else with the humidity as well, it'll get wayyy to tiring. any must-visit spots/activities you'd recommend? @Snowie

soft pink sounds lovely!! i love outrageous nails for holidays, but for other times, i like to keep it simple/natural too. or else it just gets in my way! i'll be getting my nails done on Sunday for Bali (still haven't picked a design yet).

Re: My special place

Kids were quite young @rav3n so didn't do any quad bike tours or really adventurous things like that. Did quite a few day trips to temples and some boat tours which were good. Oh and of course a tattoo!

Oh and a trip to the hospital. Hubby tried so do this imitation surf ride, fell badly and fractured his collarbone. That was fun!!

D goes wild with colours too. Always coming home with these bright nails.

You will have to post a pic of your nails once you've gotten them done!

Re: My special place

oh yes quad bikes are on my list!! you got tattoos!? so cool, what are they off? @Snowie haha yesss will definitely show you my nails next week!

how are you going? is it looking like a chill weekend for you?

Re: My special place

Hi @rav3n

Been a few days since I've been on. Its been a tough few days that has felt like weeks at times.

I've been doing some oven cooking today. The next 3 days are meant to be 38 here, so don't want to turn on the oven. No point putting more heat into the house. Just sitting down now with an iced coffee.

I have quite a number of tattoos @rav3n. Have 6 tattoos plus one of my arms all covered up. They all have different meanings. Am getting ideas for my next one at the moment.

I hope you have started to pack and getting excited for your holiday.

Quad bikes are fun. I have been on them before.

Re: My special place

Had pdoc appointment today. Seemed to go ok. Spoke about a few issues happening.

Spoke about trying to get some time to myself when I'm away. Thankfully we have our own room.

The next few days are full on with appointments for me and for mum too.

Mum got a letter from Vic Roads today about getting a medical clearance for her license. Didn't go down well and of course I was in the firing line again. She expected the letter as I'd told her it was coming, but I guess still hard to take in. I do have sympathy for her. I know it is a big thing to loose. But again, not my fault.

Now I'm worried about how much burden I'm putting on the kids with her. She wouldn't do respite. I'd hate for her to take out her frustrations onto one of them.
