Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n what kind of tea are you going to make. I’ll be making some matcha with saffron in a bit, just had lunch.

Yeah, it’s mental health related. I just wanted to have something to do before I start working. Finding a job is a process. I didn’t have it in me to do much job searching during my last semester as I was very burnt out

Re: Listening to triggering music

@creative_writer i just had made some peppermint tea đźŤµ mainly because i bought a big pack of them that i need to finish off hehe but i do like it, it's warm yet refreshing. enjoy your matcha with saffron!! my sis recently started adding some strawberry jam into her matcha... is not normal? i have no idea

volunteering is really good! and i get that, being burnt out is one of the worst feelings. plus volunteering roles in the mental health field adds even more experience (plus you can use your volunteer coordinator as reference) for when you're ready to apply for a paid role! to be fair, applying for jobs nowadays is soooo tedious. it used to be a simple resume and done, now there's more questions! wish job applications were easier

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n I haven’t heard about matcha with strawberry jam before. I just had my matcha with saffron.

I thought it might be good to do something so I don’t have a gap before starting work. Applying for jobs is a tedious process, and there is so much competition. I can’t help but feel anxious about it. I also do hope I start feeling better soon so I can get more done during the day

Re: Listening to triggering music

@creative_writer do you use that special brush (idk what it's called) when you make matcha?

ugh so true about the competition!! and totally fair that you'd feel anxious about it - i have faith you'll find a company/organisation that fits your interests!! it may take some time, but it'll be worth it in the end. and who knows, maybe the place you volunteer at may have a paid role that you can apply for in the future?

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n I don’t use the brush, I have considered getting it, but then thought it would be difficult to keep it clean.

I hope to find something too. Part time work narrows it down too, I am not up to full time work at this point because I need to recover and get my health back on track

Re: Listening to triggering music

oo true, forgot about the cleaning part! @creative_writer

yep i hear you, full-time can feel like a lot, especially when you jump from not working at all to full time. part-time is a smoother jump. are you interested in peer support/peer work sort of roles? i've noticed that peer work/peer support roles tend to have a lot more 'part-time' options throughout the year. but not sure about other times of mental health related roles

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n I’m looking for more social work based roles, preferably a counselling type position. I know for experience mental health type roles can take a lot from you, many people work part time as a result. Though a lot of the grad programs tend to be full time. I’m also looking at other positions that are grad friendly and don’t require a ton of experience

Re: Listening to triggering music

I feel like we live in a world women are treated like commodities

Re: Listening to triggering music

I want to be seen as much more than a mere object. Maybe I have insecurities around romantic relationships with men, but it’s hard not to. I’m not saying all men are the same, they’re not. I’m just scared

Re: Listening to triggering music

hey @creative_writer totally valid to have those fears, and you're definitely not alone in them. is there a social event coming up that's got you thinking about this?
