Re: Listening to triggering music

I am frustrated with myself that I haven’t been able to do much today. Brain won’t concentrate, I’ve been lightheaded and physical pain is stubborn

Re: Listening to triggering music

hiya @creative_writer sorry to hear it's been tough for you today, has the bug symptoms gotten worse? or is this something else?

dealing with both physical and mental health can be exhausting, please do be kind to yourself - it's okay to take it a tiny step at a time. here for you 💜

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n the acidity in my stomach is causing abdominal pain. It’s probably contributing to lightheartedness. I’m not sure if it’s an after-effect of the pain relief I took when I was sick. Some meds are hard on the stomach or it’s just a flare up. I’ve had this happen before, it can happen if I overdo pain relief or happen out of the blue

Re: Listening to triggering music

oh gosh, i get what you mean, sounds painful - and makes a lot of sense why the concentration part is hard!! @creative_writer hope you're taking it easy. sucks when pain meds are a bit harsh on our system. do heat pack sort of stuff help you? wish i could help takeaway the pain, sitting with you 💜

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n they say the gut is the second brain, so maybe it makes sense to feel a bit off in terms of mental health and huge migraine intensity fluctuations. I seem to be more prone to migraines when my stomach is off, it is frustrating. I haven't tried the heat pad, I don't know if heat or cold would be better, I would have to try. Maybe a gentle massage would help too.

The pain meds helped a lot with the sinus pain and fever I had earlier this month, I just don't know if it triggered this bout of pain. Meds can be tricky. I'm currently just using tea for managing migraine pain and I have been taking things easy. I do have a doctors appointment on the weekend. I don't want to have to take antacids but I don't if I have a choice, I don't want it to get worse

Re: Listening to triggering music

@creative_writer definitely agree! i didn't realise until last year how much of my mental/emotional health was linked with my gut health. genuinely fascinates me how interconnected everything is. glad to hear you're taking it easier today. oh gosh migraines suck!!! it's good you've got that appointment coming up, hope the tea's helping - is it like green tea or something else?

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n the gut and brain are very interconnected. Sometimes it is hard to know which comes first. My gut is typically not great when I do get those migraines. The pain is relatively mild right now, it's mostly later in the day it picks up. I drink matcha with saffron, ginger tea is also soothing.

I am having brain farts right now, been trying to get some work done but not absorbing much. I suppose as long as I pass the modules, that is what matters

Re: Listening to triggering music

@creative_writer it is hard to tell which comes first! ooo match with saffron sounds nice - i've heard that saffron is really great for health. my sis keeps offering hers whenever she has some and i keep trying it hoping i'll like it but nope, i haven't acquired the taste for it yet ugh!! ginger tea's so good too - even though ginger is really good, i think it does heat up my body at times, and then i drink milk to help soothe that.

brain farts are so annoyinggg! ohh what modules are you working on? is it for a new role?

Re: Listening to triggering music

@rav3n saffron is really powerful but it is so expensive. I feel like warm tea in general can be warming on the body.

It's for a volunteer role position that I will be starting up soon. I also have to start applying for jobs too

Re: Listening to triggering music

@creative_writer oh yeah it is expensive!! my mum rations the saffron when we try using it haha. speaking of tea, i feel like drinking hot tea now... going to go make myself some.

oh exciting!! is the volunteer role in the social work/mental health sort of field?
