Hey @Blackcloud , what are some of your random thoughts? I'm here to listen.
I went for a walk today. Took the kids to the park. The dog got groomed. I had the electrician come. I went to the Hammerbarn for light tubes...
And now I'm here, ready and waiting to listen to you 🙂
What'd you get up to?

I'm good @Blackcloud 😊
Bit tired, as my sleep and schedule has been a bit out of whack lately so I made myself get up early today so hopefully I can fall asleep early too.
Do you have any plans for the weekend, other than trying to stay cool?

@tyme um well I pretty much have already posted some of my random thoughts on this thread already, including the ones on the original post of this thread lol
i just hate how expensive therapy/psychology is in general even when it’s bulk billed…and that explains why the lack of mental health care in Australia is the reason for that, hence the increasing amount of violence happening in places even from youths doing really stupid stuff that they really shouldve been arrested (without bail) for a long period of time for. Everything is so expensive and we just can’t afford to live off with anything because of how expensive it all is here…. Now I need to only have sessions with my psychologist for at least once a month because the fact that it costs $97 for both Telehealth and face to face sessions now….

hey @Blackcloud !!!
what'd you get up to for Christmas/NY!?
also wanted to answer your questions from last week about how my friend made money while overseas - i'm not sure if she did (btw this a friend from school that i don't talk to anymore, i just know about her life cos she posts a lot about it). i think she probably saved up money while working in melb, she was working while we were in high school too.

@rav3n
I didn’t get up to anything for Xmas and NY other than just watching the fireworks & took videos of them at the start of the NY that happened from the top of all the hotel buildings that the accomodation I currently live at is surrounded by. What did you get up to?
Oh I see.. I sometimes wish I had the capacity to be able to work as well if it wasn’t for my condition & my mental health issues lol

Arghhh. @Blackcloud . That really is so expensive. It's sad that people who need it most probably can't afford it. I'm glad mine is only $30 out of pocket or so. It actually costs more for me to see the GP than the psych!

I never paid a gap fee for years. Then after COVID, I paid $20 gap, and now it's about $30. @Blackcloud
He used to be my case manager, but when I left Community Mental Health, I 'followed' him to his private practice.
I guess he's not after money?

@tyme oh ok.
anyways now it’s like I need to access multiple various mental health services in Australia including the sane support helpline (though I haven’t used the helpline here yet) like on a weekly or fortnightly basis because damnnn the therapy/psychology services are the reason why I bet 90% of the people in this world can’t even afford to seek therapy cause of it, and it’s understandable why. The whole system needs to stop being money hungry towards all of their consumers in order for everyone to have access to therapy. It could make the world such a better place that way if all therapy services weren’t so money hungry.

I guess I see both sides. To be a clinical psych, you need at least 7 years of study. That is a lot. Unless medicare increases how much they give, I can see why psychs need to up their fees. @Blackcloud
Then, if medicare increases how much they pay, it means tax payers will also have to pay more.
At the moment, there is provision made for the acutely unwell, and that is through the public mental health system. Unfortunately, this is not a preventative measure. Rather it's the 'cure' measure. Some people have to wait until they are so unwell and 'qualify' for public health before they can get support.
I hear it from both sides. I've been in the public mental health system, and that's why I'm alive today.
