Vert in sync with you @creative_writer . Yesterday I was feeling rotten till I realized the main reason I was feeling rotten was me so consistently trying to put a positive spin on things. Too much of that was robbing me of well earned annoyance, anger and other very useful and valid emotions.
And, that's a really good quote. Jung is such a yoga-head. I love it.

I’m so scared of causing offence that I read and re-read my posts over and over again. What did I write? Have I offended that individual? Will I get a response, perhaps maybe even a thumbs up? But I feel for you. I wasn’t validated growing up, was told to put up with it all, to accept not to whinge. Was told as my sister became mentally unwell that I wasn’t the one suffering, to just deal with it. And so I did, as best I could at that age.

Hey @Former-Member thank you for your post and thoughts here on the Forums! I read my posts over and over sometimes so I have them correct and I get worried about missing something haha. I have had those feelings about saying the right thing and offending people sometimes too.
I hope you feel validated here on the Forums as we all have MH issues and life has been challenging in different ways.
It's great to have you as part of the community!
Take care

Hello @creative_writer, @RiverSeal, ha! So I’m not the only one re checking! I too want to please, and am so frightened I will offend! Thank you for your thoughts, the paranoia stems from my illness, I think.
