It’s to do with the pigments that are used to make the colours @CheerBear . They are drawn from a wide variety of sources, and are essentially the same ones that were used by the masters, fmground up and mused with egg tempera. Bearing that in mind, some can be toxic, so handle with care .... gloves or barrier cream, and wash it off your skin as it can be absorbed through that barrier.
Sone pigments are synthesised now, which can make them safer ..... sonethjibg to eat in mind with fur-babies too.
It doesn’t mean don’t use them, just practice art-materials safety. You can look up pigments yo know what you’re using and how to manage it.
Enjoy making art ❣️

@Zoe7 and @Faith-and-Hope
I added some white to a magenta I have been having disappearing trouble with and it worked! I wanted to show you because I was super excited (I need magenta in my life and was getting very frustrated it wasn't working).
It was going a yucky see through red brown colour before and now it dried to this. Big thanks again 🙂👍
