The Weekly Friday Feast

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Yes please @CherryBomb can mine be a vanilla latte plases.
Thanks @Shaz51. I just dont like feeling this way. I jousttbwant to be happy

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Queenie Chocolate mudcake? Mmmmmm. Whenever I have chocolate mudcake in the house I seem to end up eating it for breakfast, so the fact that you've waited until dinner is pretty impressive...unless of course you had it for breakfast AND dinner...which is probably what I would do Smiley LOL

I totally hear what you are saying about holding onto the hope of having a nurturing family. When I say I ditched my family, I actually only ditched my brother and sister because my parents had already both died. It is the most natural thing in the world to want a loving family. We are biologically hardwired to live in groups - with the family being the most central of those groups. It is understandable that you can't forget what your father said to you - that is an awful thing to say to anyone Smiley Sad

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Shaz51, the birthday was okay, very hot weather. It is raining today thankfully so it has cooled down a lot.

@CherryBomb what do you offer for non-coffee drinkers?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Shaz51. Sorry - I didn't know about your husband and his meds for sleeping. Didn't mean to sound so glib.
Could be a frightening experience - when you can't wake him & you feel you need help.
Hello @Phoenix_Rising. Amazing name choice. Welcome to the forums.
hi @Former-Member. Been a few days since we've caught up. How are you going?
Just had my mum on the ph for 50 minutes - I turn around - & there's about 100 posts to get through.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Happy birthday @Queenie. Family are like the friends you didn't choose. They're in you're life for this reason, but you can decide on how you interact with the. Your chosen friends though, are the family that you do choose.

Vanilla latte coming up @natureoflife. Sorry to hear that you're not feeling great Smiley Sad

@Phoenix_Rising, I sit at my lap top with pen and paper and takes notes to keep up with people! Keeping track of conversations is tricky. Smiley Wink

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@CherryBombit's really hard to write stuff in the worry room and then leave it there.  it triggers stuff, i can't explain right now. all i know is that this is crap. i am angry, confused, really sad and emotional. This week will be really really hard as it is our auctiion next saturday. lots of mixed emotions. wish i was somewhere else right now, i can't cope with all these changes going on.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@queenis, sometimes family just suck! I like Cherrybomb's distinction between the blood family (we don't choose) and friend family (we do chose). Yes, we can't change them, only rise above it and 'be the better man' so to speak. We're hear for you a bit. Take care, xox

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @utopia, I'm okay, just plodding along. (with my kitten purring on my lap). Stressed about having to look for a new job in 10 weeks, but other than that okay.
How about you?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Queenie, I got a selection of herbal teas, peppermint, chamomile, rooibos?

@BlueBay  you're going through a lot right now. Selling a house is stressful, and you're processing a lot of family stuff. Can you make some space tonight to put these things aside, and do something relaxing. Cup of tea, and a bath perhaps?
