Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Former-Member@Former-Member

Could it be that I just like the sound of it - felt it might suit a Roman Centurion or something

Actually - for my son - who died 3 decades ago last July - still just a month since the anniversary - and also yes - I have surived many decades and when I go back across my life I have lived in many different places and seen many different events of historical significance.

One was the day the King died - and Harold Holt drowned - and JFK was assassinated.

And who could forget 9/11 - and Bali - Hiroshima and many other things - people who were rightly or wrongly incriminated - Schappell Corby - Ronald Ryan. The Day the West Gate Bridge fell and severe bushfires - one of which I was was far too close to

And many great days too - The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth, the Melbourne Olympics, TV - then coloured TV here in Australia - the Bicentenial in 1988 - and so many other events

The day I was married - the day my son was adopted and my daughter was born - my divorce - when I graduated from university - and these things are only the top of the icing - there are many stories in my life

And yes @Former-Member - it is good to have dropped in and found this thread - even though the feast was over before I came in

Decadian

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Former-Member .. Hi. When I was about 12, on farm, I used to go and talk. to the cows. The Friesian, re pic was called Frederieke. She used to lick me when I patted her .. Gisella, the other milker, was a bit more standoffish, well she was a Jersey lol

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Decadian. I hope I didn't offend you. Ages ago I remember highlighting your name and selecting define but it didn't yield any results. I've since learned I can't do that on this site. I just googled it and learned the meaning of decadian. I understand the significance of it for you now, I always had a feeling there was something significant behind it. Thanks for sharing it with us. Best wishes 💜😊

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@TAB what a lovely memory to have!

I adore cows, I think they are just the most gorgeous animals.

I have a similar memory! Although I was never lucky enough to *live* on a farm. Did you live on a property with them, or were they just near by? When I was very little I went on holiday with my mum and my cousin to a farm in the the south-west of Victoria by the beach. It was my responsibility as an 8 year old to take care of the newborn calves Heart I used to love how they would suck on your hands and run to you when they saw you come by the barn!!

So started my love of the beatiful creatures 🙂

The quote itself "concealed cows" is from a TV show called "Firefly".
