Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hey @Adge  do you have a doctor or better yet psychologist who can do the forms with you?  The whole thing is very overwhelming at first I agree.  Maybe some of the posts on the 'Anyone Started with the NDIS?' thread (https://saneforums.org/t5/Our-stories/Anyone-started-with-the-NDIS/td-p/157210)  I started last year could be helpful to you.  Feel free to ask me any questions you have, I'm pretty familiar with a lot of it by now.  Quite a bit of it is like learning a new language, but support is out there, maybe I can give you some options for that too.

I nearly gave up several times, but eventually being approved has changed my life for the better.

Hi @Shaz51!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hey @Shaz51, chicken in blue cheese sauce and potato au gratin for me and I'm probably going to be really bad a scoff some malteesers in bed...don't judge me lol :face_with_rolling_eyes:😉

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Study and work @eth
I am going there next year. But in a week I am just travelling around the US and also Warsaw in Poland.
I am a bit nervous about it all and it caught up with me today. To think in March this year I was in hospital for my MH.
I think the shock value of it all hit me a bit.
I have support from family and friends. Life has a beauty to it.
I think I'll. Be okay

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Be at peace in your heart and soul and your mind can hopefully follow 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Adge all the best with the NDIS. My sister is on it and it can be a right nuisance organising it. But once it is done it is effective

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Really nice that you are seeing the beauty @MDT.  It sounds like a huge adventurous step for you.  Great to have such support.

I went to Denmark and Canada by myself with no support at all for 2 months in Denmark.  I look back on it now and wonder how I did it, even just negotiating airports and flights.  But I did do it, learned a lot (including about myself!) and made it home safely.  You can too!!!  Travelling with support is the way to go.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I’m pretty good @eth

@Janiee - Maltesers are light - they don’t count as bad food.

@Adge - sounds like you need a restorative kind of weekend.

@MDT - you WILL be fine. You’ll look back and wonder why you were so worried.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Ohhh @soul, I like your way of thinking lol

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Janiee  If maltesers make you happy then they're good for your mental health!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks @eth I have a limited amount of support - gardening (every 6 weeks) & MH Group lunch.

Both are funded by state agencies, that I had already been assessed for (& qualified).

Now it's all switching to the NDIS, the state agencies are closing permanently.

So I will lose my gardening service & maybe my MH lunch, if I don't now Re-qualify (again) for the NDIS (instead).
