Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Jacques  I guess it's complicated when different people with different problems try to reach out to each other, but I think that's why we're all on here - we take a risk to feel more connected.  It's a shame someone was upset but I'm sure your intention was in the right place and that's what matters.  It's good to know you're still following the forum anyway, this is one of the best ones I've found in several years.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Awwwwwwwwwwww @Jacques try not to feel bad. At least talk on here. With all of us that you know (and a few newcomers). 😞

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

My psychiatrist keeps harping on about behaioural activation to help my depression... it doesn't really help much - doing stuff - sometimes it makes the suicidality worse - stuck in your mind & body doing something you know you enjoy, but don't at the moment - I did find the yoga helped with anxiety though - although the 2nd time was a very difficult session & it made me feel more anxious... I find the breathing really hard. Today the instructor kept telling me to breathe in & out through my nose. I like to breathe in through my nose & out through my mouth or I feel like I'm not getting enough air. I don't like the fancy breathing they teach - I just like to focus on not holding my breath.

Sometimes all we can do is stay alive...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank you! You will get to tai chi!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Former-Member  I find the most important aspect of breathing to get my feelings under control is to simply focus on slowing it down, whether through nose or mouth I don't find it makes much difference.  I mentally count my breath 1-5 in 1-5 out, and do it at least 5 times.  There are so many breath techniques out there if you google them.  Some yoga teachers are really rigid about what works best but you have to do what works for you.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank you @Crazy_Bug_Lady & @eth, your support means so much, i am just too anxious and adding to it does me no good.  i do love the friday feast, i love to read what everyone has been up to and what they have planned.  If i think i can contribute something i will, i will just be more cautious from now on.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Howdy fellow Feasters... I'm late but thought I'd pop in anyhow.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thanks @Former-Member. I haven't heard of 'behavioural activation'. I'm activating myself to more than I was doing with a daily activity plan. It helps me get basic things done through the day and get out of the flat more.

@Jacques I offended someone on the forum too in the past week and it was really my fault. I didn't mean any harm and apologised straight away, just like you. We need to forgive ourselves for mistakes we make. I think you communicate very well.
