Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi @Jacques
I have read some of your story in your thread in lived experiences. The thread is so long I can't read it all & at the end you seem to be having a good conversation with a few people. What really struck me is you seem to be a very kind, caring person. If only you could be kind to yourself and see that the world needs more people like you ~ not less. I have had panic disorder with agoraphobia, but thankfully only for a year...
I don't really like weekends. Too complicated to explain why & I get the idea we are supposed to be light hearted here. I will try to get to parkrun tomorrow and the markets on Sunday. I will play with Katniss.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Oh I'm so excited that you got a new kitten @Former-Member

I desperately want a puppy, but I live in an apartment 😞

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

oh thank you, yes it is quite long, i have tried to move to another thread but i am still writing their, yes @hiddenite is having quite a hard time at the moment, i am happy to support any/everyone on here if they would like some encouragement.

yes i have had agoraphobia for 14 years, i have rarly left the house in that time, the world scares me now, so do people.  yes i agree lighthearted, time to unwind from a difficult week, wow a run and sunday markets, and oh yes their is nothing like a kitten, i like cats, i am more a cat person, you have to earn their respect , i like that in an animal.

i bet he/she gets up to some mischef and is a bundle of energy?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@NikNik that is sad you can't have a puppy. Pets are extremely therapeutic. Apartments are cheaper to live in often, but you can't have pets 😞 Rent is too expensive these days!

@Jacques yes she is mischievous and has lots of energy!! I have brought her lots of little toys and she loves playing. She wakes us up in the middle of the night wanting to play! I am a cat person. I like that they are independent. Dogs are too dependant on you for my liking. I am more an animal person, than a people person. I have schizophrenia, so people can be scary to me for different reasons.
I'm not in a running frame of mind. I went for a run for the first time in about 3 weeks today and it was not a good run. I will set my alarm and see how I go.
Thank you all for welcoming me here!!!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I find jogging a bit of a hit and miss experience for me. Sometimes I feel that 'runners high' people talk about, but more often than not I'm counting down the seconds until I can finish.. which makes it seem longer of course!

I like team sports. I'm quite competitive, so it's a good outlet. I also find that I lose track of time and everything that I was thinking about before disappears.

I'm glad you're going for another run tomorrow @Former-Member and not just giving up.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi everyone, just jumping in and out as I can on a Friday night again. This week has seen me a bit more stabilised since starting a new medication. Still taking every day at a very slow pace but am seeing improvements in the time since I've been on the forum and have been getting out more. Tonight is free time with my partner including 'parallel activities' on the computer. We had Govindas vegetarian again for dinner and having a few beers (and no more than a few).

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I often get the runners high and enjoy the endorphins and sunshine. I need more sunshine - I'm lacking in vitamin d and don't believe in the supplement form. More sunshine will help the depression. I had a good running year last year and the year before. This year hasn't been so good ~ I moved from the city to country and in the process left my running club behind. Mainly I have been tapering to lower doses of some medications with the help of my psychiatrist due to side effects, plus medication changes, plus a 6 week hospitalisation. I hope to have another good running year next year....
I liked team sport in high school. Especially touch football. When I was 28 or 29 & living with two female housemates I played netball with them at the university. I really enjoyed that!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

oh me too @Former-Member, i only have agoraphobia and depression but i prefer wild animals any day over humans, they are not nasty or hateful like humans are.

i have so much wildlife in my yard and a farm next door so i get to see so many animals.

maybe you would be better going for a walk, i walk most days and i find it is just nice getting some fresh air.
