Re: The Weekly Friday Feast
I had to have yesterday off work, so that completely mucked around with my schedule... I'd decided it was Saturday...
I'm in the process of getting ADSL internet for the first time, really looking forward to being on the net and not worried I'll go over my cap and get another $300 bill... Unfortunately as the landline hasn't been used in years there's been a few snags, but go me! I've been managing to ring customer service for help, and they've been really helpful.
One day I'll be able to use a phone to call someone and not have a panic attack, yesterday was not the day... But I am very thankful for the guy that answered and was patient with me and promised to call me back in 30 minutes when I could calm down. Despite how embarrassed I felt, he called back and helped me out.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast
your awesome, !
Love that man that rang you back in 30 mins! What a kind group of people helping you out!
You know, its the little things that 'we,' appreciate. Like customer service. When your able to, when your calm, dont forget to pick up one of those $1.00 thank you cards. And send it to the service centre. I make this a habit of mine.....when im able to. To send a card because of good service.i get told.... The millions of times that people go into shock because they only get complaints but they are really trying to do the right thing ....tee hee hee !

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast
Afterwards I got an email asking for feedback (they send one everytime you speak to customer service) and I usually just ignore it, but I filled it out and said how brilliant he was. It was just amazing for me, to have someone not react negatively to me panicking, and not make a big deal about it.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast
Sorry I missed you last night .. good on you for sorting things out. Isn't it nice that often it is people in odd incidental events that are the most understanding.
I had an "allergy" to digital stuff cos of ex who was in IT. It looks different to yours. I use landline and had ADSL for about 7 years because I felt I had to provide it for my son. I have let it be a natural limiting factor .. to try and teach him to self regulate when we run out, we run out. He had a screen addiction and at times I carried my television to hide it at a little old ladies house down the street.
His mood was pretty low for a long time so to avoid argument, derision, stress, I let it be his internet and his computer thing with his dad. I went to the library. I got my laptop 2 years ago and have enjoyed indulging in it since.
Its still an issue with son but mostly he has developed reasonable taste as a young man. I still resist using a mobile phone unless I have to. Not into taking or posting photos.
It can be such a time waster .. but its great to be uptodate .. as a science lady you definitely deserve good access to the net.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast
so so impressed @Crazy_Bug_Lady
Thats what i, talking about! YOUR Awesome you did this.
It feels to me its us, the 'stigmatised,' who appreciate that small kind smile, the 5 minutes extra patience.
Not blooming 'shirt front, ' a (maybe) Psychopath! We notice the little nuanced bits of behaviour.

thanks for asking darling @NikNik
I wake up wanting to stress out, my home was taken away from me. It may have been 15 years ago but its taken me this long to be able to start processing it.
I want write a letter slow mail and confront my Dad. But will need to think about if and do not know if im strong enough.
