Thank you Shaz51 for your kind remarks and yes, I had a good day. Keen card player of Canasta and our church group had a break-up party luncheon today. Very nice food and lots of laughter and chatter over our card game before the refreshments. Have a few more Xmas parties to attend so will have to watch my waist-line!. oh dear 😞 You might be surprised how few people actually believe her and those that do.. really dont matter.
Doesnt make it any easier though probably. I can relate to how you are feeling because when i left my ex.. there were all sorts of stories circulating.. some started by him im sure and i felt like i couldnt face the world. It did get better though and the more i went out the less people seemed to notice me again? not sure if that makes any sense...

What a horrible woman @Jacques

The reason I asked whether you think people will listen to her or not, is because people have pretty good (what I call) bullshit meters and can pick up when people are gossips - so whatever they are gossiping about doesn't hold much meaning to them.

If she's saying nasty things about you, it's likely she is nasty about other people too. So I wouldn't be surprised if people didn't take too much notice.
